40k Tactica 12” Deep Strike Bubble - Positioning
Where do you all like to position your 12” deep strike bubble prevention units? I’m using Kharseth in Aeldari, Priority Assets, and tend to bring him to the natural. With a chunk of my army there I wonder if that’s overkill, barring 6” deep strike units.
Do you generally just use these types of units to shield home objective against units looking for easy secondaries? Interested in other armies/unit types too.

I have honestly kind of given up preventing deep strike in general and more. Keeping my army close enough together that my vulnerable units are never in front. It's worked out pretty well. They've very occasionally gotten an extra five points from a secondary, but at the same time it's saving me probably whole units.

I mean, that is what screening deepstrikes is about. It is not like you can prevent your opponent from getting angles or dropping down at all, 12" bubbles are just another tool to ensure screening coherency so they don't come down somewhere they can get a really good charge on a key unit.

I usually see screening discussions around backline screening and things like that. What I'm saying is I've basically abandoned my deployment zone and things like that in favor of a more coherent army. Obviously I'm screening but I'm screening for regular charges and positioning that just by happenstance would equally screen deep strikes. Case in point. The original post says do you use this for screening your home objective.

Agents player here with double Navigator.
I typically put one on my home objective, and measure out just enough distance to deny my opponents base size + the 12 inches (pre agree this outcome during deployment to avoid them even trying it).
The second one i often put somewhere more aggressive, typically behind my front line, but within range to advance & stare at an infantry unit on an objective for that sweet -2 battleshock.
Other thing I do with Navigator 2 is bring it on from reserves via Rapid in turn 2, allows me to potentially deny them scoring in their next turn, and prevents them from bringing a reserve in there too.

How des rapid Ingress of the Navigator T2 prevent Opponent from bringing in reserve?
He would bring in his reserve in his movement phase and you can only rapid at the end of it.?
Or do you mean preventing opponent from bringing in Reserve T3? But then you would not need to Rapid Ingress him?

I used kharseth too and I put him near the back of my natural, making him straddle the end of a wall so he gets gone to ground from a lot of angles. Then I assume thats enough. The way I see it if they want to send something that close to kill my cheap model, thats a win. I'll protect against an infiltrate or something else small so he gets to live to at least round 3 but by then hes scored some points and been annoying enough that he can die, ive noticed. This is with recon primary though.

Hi, Grey Knight player here.
I think 12" deep strike denial units are awful and over-costed. I wouldn't recommend anyone use them!
Kidding. As someone who's entire army deepstrikes, I really don't care if you put your deep strike denial unit on your home. You should use it near your expansion or where I want to rapid ingress my big meaty unit.
