Straight needles vs circular

Post image

I'm planning on knitting a children's intarsia sweater and was wondering if there was any sort of advantage to knitting on straight needles vs using circular (which I use for almost all of my modern knitting, even not in the round stuff).šŸ¤”

Nope. Whatever works best for you. There aren't rules.

Back and forth on a circular is the way I’d do it! If you have straight needles you like using, feel free, but I prefer my circulars.

Intarsia basically only makes sense on straight needles. Otherwise you end up with extremely long floats or thousands of little wool bits needing to be woven in later.

Intarsia is easiest to work flat, but you can do that in circular needles just as well

You can certainly knit flat on circular needles.
