I doubt this will shake up Viktor's WR by more than a .5/1%, keeping his early game weak seems like the intentional choice for the direction they want to take him.

The buffs don't seem resolutive, I wonder if they'll double down and inject even more power into his late-game scaling next.

Seems dogshit, I want the MS back. The level scaling will help mid Viktor (Solo lane EXP), but the ratio buff will help bottom viktor; as ratios are a gold scaling lever.

Hey guys i play viktor for some years already, usually i get to gold and stop playing ranked. Im doing this post since i saw one about clamp cast that i didnt even know it existed ( i stopped playing for 5 years and got back a couple of months ago). I tried in a game and was pretty good.

The thing is that i always used his laser like drawing a line before the enemy( with quickcast), aiming where the laser would start, with good sucess, but sometimes i missed. But in this post some guy said that with clamp cast it kinda turned his e in a point click ability( like leblanc's q for example), so i tried that in a couple of games( one against bots and another normal game) and it went pretty good. Using clamp cast and just clicking e while my mouse was hovering on the enemy champ i dont think i missed one e all laning phase lol. Felt game breaking,.ngl...

So thats why im asking: is this the best way to hit his laser, or am i just having success because im playing against bots? It was always like this or it is because of clamp cast?

Another question, i saw a duns vídeo saying to use clamp cast on lane phase. Do you guys turn it off after laning phase?

I always thought viktor was super hard and that’s why I couldn’t make it work and got dogwalked whenever I faced him untill I discovered clamp cast and now I’m 4 games from diamond playing about 70% viktor 30% talon, where I’ve lost 3 viktor games and won about 12 of them, and all of these games are after the most recent nerf, his E genuinely turns into a point and click Caitlyn q and his Q is the safest and most repulsive trading tool ever. If you don’t have clamp cast on you’re genuinely removing like 400 lp from your potential rank

I personally think viktor should be balanced in a way which isn't frustrating, I think it would allow the champ to be stronger as well.

Most of the problem stems from viktors poke being "unfair" because of how easy it is to get hit by e. I think this can be remediated by just changing the speed of the laser, still no cast time of course.

Then they could just buff the damage of e as well to compensate, either percentage or just straight base dmg because I feel like the days of late game viktor are gone ever since ap ratio nerfs to his q and r, and the removal of his Item

I personally wouldn't even mind if they gutted the shield as long as we get to do dmg.

I just played my first game of Viktor since the nerfs and I have to say that he feels pretty terrible now. I'm only Emerald, so im not exactly the authority on what good gameplay is, but he's by far my most played champion. His win rate is down by like 3.5% in mid and bot.

The shield nerf was tough but understandable. The 5 movement speed nerf is what feels atrocious. I won the game I played and did a lot of damage, but the champ feels really clunky now.

I'll probably still play him a little bit if it's the right game, but I can't imagine possibly trying to one trick him like I did in seasons past.

Riot is doing everything they can to preserve Viktor's identity. They think the fantasy of playing Viktor is poking with E1 in the gaming phase. Do other Viktor players actually think this?

For me, I would much rather see a nerf to E1 base damage or even range rather than the things they're doing. Zooming around with shields, kiting, gliding with Q is much more essential to Viktor's identity. Of course, the E is iconic and satisfying to use, but i think it's actually more about the E2 rather than 1000 range undodgable instant cast E1.

What do other Viktor players think ?

Viktor's Q shield duration is going down to 2.0 seconds, from 2.5 - alongside the previous nerfs.

This is egregious, no? This feels like taking a 50-51% winrate champ down to ~47%. Why is it so heavy handed? Surely he will either be hotfixed, or buffed straight away?

Also, why are the nerfs so centric on the most fun part of his kit; playing around q durability and movespeed. Not happy with this at all.

I am new to game in general and am in silver. I usually beat the shit outta em in lane champs like katarina,zed,fizz and all get cs lead but then they just roam even sacrificing the wave and farm my botlane

I get spammed pinged for not pinging missing(I did)

and not following (river is unwarded, ill be killed if I follow)

Upcoming nerfs:

- MS: 335 → 330

- Q shield: 40–140 → 30–130

- Q AP ratio: 25% → 20%

Previous −5 MS nerfs and win-rate changes:

- Kassadin: −2.92%

- Aphelios: −1.78%

- Katarina: −0.63%

Those drops weren't necessarily caused by MS alone, but they're interesting comparisons.

ChatGPT estimates the combined nerfs could cost Viktor 1.5–2.5 percentage points of win rate, potentially dropping him from around 51% to 48.5–49.5%.

Obviously, AI predictions aren't gospel, but losing MS and roughly 20–25% of his Q shield seems pretty harsh for an immobile mage.

Lately I have been almost exclusively playing Viktor and Xerath in the mid lane, while perma banning Locke. However, I have been struggling to play Viktor against a Xerath. I usually win lane until his first or second base, but once he gets a mana crystal and a book he just has so much more lane dominance and kill pressure than I do on Viktor. Especially post 6, he can easily get a pick on me or one of my teammates at a grub or dragon fight and just snowball from there. Almost every time I am against Xerath I am even in lane until one of my teammates inevitably dies to him, and then my game is just over. I’m just not sure how to play this matchup in the mid-late laning phase. Should I just dodge? Looking for some advice on this matchup.

New League player here (yes, I have joined the legion of "DEAR GOD STOP PLAYING THE GA-"). I wanted to ask about playing Viktor. He has a playstyle I enjoy and despite his supposed difficulty, I feel like I have actually been doing well with him the past few games. If you guys could give me strategy and champions I should possibly look out for that are good counters to him, I would much appreciate it.
