Been on an anime binge (as per usual), and noticed that many dubs and/or voiceovers of many movies and series (not just animes) are in the southern accent; while so many voiceovers are in a northern accent? (I'm a Hanoi person)
Also dub definition: Alt track that removes the dialogue in the OG language and replace them with the localized dialogue. Voiceover: Alt track that simply spoke the translated dialogue over the OG dialogue (example: News voiceover of a foreigner's interview)
I see that many Vietnamese typically group dubs and voiceovers into one (aka: Lồng tiếng). It's not the same thing, and I'm just making that clear
Example of dubs: The World God Only Knows (POPS), Azumanga Daioh (HTV3), Doraemon, Conan, Journey to the West 1986 (HTV3 dub, not the more common VTV voiceovers), etc
Why is the southern accent so common in dubs/voiceovers?
