"Vegas Style" on freemont street

hi! I know there's already been another post about this in here but I just wanted to warn people about an extortion scam in vegas. It's a tshirt print shop / gift shop on Fremont St called "Vegas Style"

I walked in there because my friend was there looking at some shorts, she told me she was going to get some custom ones done and I asked her how much it was, she said the lady at the counter told her It's only $20. So I decided I wanted to get some too, I went up to the counter and asked the 2 girls if it was really only $20 for custom shorts and she said "Yep!! just $20!"

So we get our designs done, then one of the girls said "btw It's buy 2 get one free so you can get something else for free if you are paying together!" so I decided why not? It's only $40 if I put my friends on my card, and then I can get a free shirt. So they package up our stuff, and they hand me the card reader which was one of those handheld Clover systems where she prompted me to tap my card, and I did, not even realizing that she was INTENTIONALLY covering the total on the screen with her hand. then she handed me a receipt to sign which was folded over so I couldnt see the total and as I was signing thats when I realized what was happening, so I immediately asked to see the receipt, and they SNATCHED that signed copy away so fast I couldnt even react, handed me an itemized bill with a total of $308. so I immediately freak out and ask for the signed copy back and these girls start arguing like nobodies business. I said "dude come on you told me $20 each" and they said "right! $20 for the shorts, and then plus the design cost" they refused to refund me, refused to give me my signed copy back and literally told me that I could "go cry about it bro" we left the clothes there because I figured if I want to get my money back we can't have taken the product. and they even tried to follow us out of the store to force us to take the items. I'm currently trying to get my money back through my credit card company and am going to be reporting them to the Report Fraud website. if you have had a similar experience please please help me out by reporting them here: https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/

edit: sorry I meant Fremont St.

Friends just flaked for F1 - there from 17th - 22nd, staying at the Cosmo

So as the title suggests, my friends flaked on me for the F1 in Vegas, I go every year but my usual group couldn’t make it and so had invited some others. I already had my hotel and flights booked and the two that were supposed to come pulled out last minute.

I’d have also cancelled but I have a great freaking room, at the Cosmo which is a balcony overlooking the fountains/race track, and I’ve got some F1 tickets so honestly I’m still going.

I like to party, I like to gamble and I like the F1 🤷🏻‍♂️.

The whole point of my post is ima be alone and as much as I love my own company, for 4 nights it can get pretty lonely. So if anyone’s about during that time and wants to hang out, I’m game! I’m good to play blackjack with, I drink, I’d love to go to a club, and anything else that other people might suggest. Essentially ima do these things regardless but having some others to meet up with would be pretty f cool.

A bit about me - I’m Middle Eastern but born and raised in London, I’m 31M, and I’m very chill!

Anyone here remember when Tupac was in Vegas that last night?

Photos of Tupac from that night hit differently when you know what happened next. September 7, 1996 he was in Vegas for the Tyson fight at MGM Grand. A few hours later, he was shot. He died six days later, at just 25. Hard to imagine how many people saw him that evening and thought they’d just spotted a celebrity on a Saturday night. Anyone living in Vegas back then remember hearing the news?

A New Community for MGM Rewards Discussion

Hi everyone! With new posts in r/Mlife appearing to be restricted, I created r/MGMRewardsCommunity as another place to talk about MGM Rewards, offers, comp stays, FREEPLAY, resort credit, and experiences at MGM properties.

It’s an independent, unofficial community. Whether you’re new to the program or a longtime member, you’re welcome to ask questions, share trip reports, compare experiences, or just join the conversation.

I’ve missed having an active place for these discussions, and I hope this can be useful to others who have too.

Thanks to the r/vegas mods for giving me permission to share this!

Wynn buffet

I was wondering if anyone had any tips for the Wynn buffet?
is Wednesday the same menu as Thursday?

can you really pay for priority seating for let’s say 12:30 PM which is kind of like the brunch and a lot cheaper and still stay there for dinner time which is $30 more?

My father has been having a hard time this year and I want to treat him, but I also don’t want to stay in Long two hour lines so was wondering if there were any tips to navigate this

Getting into bars on Halloween with elaborate makeup

My brother and I are coming to Vegas for Halloween. I do monster makeup as a hobby, and we will both be wearing very elaborate makeup, including foam latex prosthetics, completely covering our heads and faces. I've been planning, designing, and fabricating these costumes for months, and have spent many hours and a lot of money creating them. They will be glued on, and cannot be removed to show our faces to the doorman or hostess at the entrance to the bar.

We are planning to walk around Fremont Street for most of the night, so that won't be an issue for most of the night. But there is a Halloween party at the bar at the top of our hotel, and we thought we'd go to that as we wind down the night. I have reserved a table at the party. Do you think that if we go to the management on Halloween afternoon, before we are in costume, and explain that we are guests of the hotel, and show them our IDs and room key card, and show them pictures of the costumes that we intend to wear, and explain that we have a table reserved for the party, that they could let us in that night? (The costumes are completely unique, so there is no chance that anyone else would possibly show up dressed the same, and be confused for us.)

Is that worth a shot? Or do we just have no chance of getting into the bar?

Hey everyone! I’m 24M, in Vegas for work Monday through Wednesday, and decided to stay through the weekend for Halloween. I’m staying on the Strip and would love to meet some people to hang out and celebrate with.

Any recommendations for Halloween parties, bars, or other fun events? If anyone’s heading out and open to having another person join, let me know!

Casino birthday promos

So went around on my bday to see what I could collect most are tied to your actual bday

At palms casino they offered up to $150in free play I got $45.

At the Gold Coast not far away I asked at the rewards desk and they said nada, anyways I stopped at an electronic craps table used my card and a floor worker walks up said happy day and wrote me a paper food voucher for $50

Then that attendant said dsomething about it’s a new program and varies at each Boyd property
So I took a bus to Fremont st. And went to the Californian put in my card at the kiosk and they gave me $10 match play and a free 15 number live keno bet

The other Boyd properties main st and Fremont did not give me anything probably becuz they are connected.

Went to binions and got a food voucher good for 24 hours

Took the deuce back to Fontainebleau and nothing there but I’m not one of their high roller if you are you will get an email or credited to your players card

Walked across to resorts world and got 5000 pts didn’t expect that becuz my account shows a big fat zero with them becuz I play only bubble craps

Then skipped Wynn becuz I know I’m not a high roller

Went to ellis island only got $10 free play the had three boxed to pick

Strip in early November

I’m going to Vegas from November 4 through November 9. I’ve only ever been once in the summer. I’m going with my entire family and we’re staying at the Paris hotel. What kind of issues/blockers are we gonna run into given the upcoming F1 race? I know they put a grand stand in front of the Bellagio fountains, and drain the Venetian gondola water outside.

What issues are we gonna run into? For example, walking around the strip or anything like that?

T-Mobile Arena - The Tower Club

I will be in Vegas this weekend and noticed that Doja Cat is going to be at T-Mobile Arena on Halloween. Was interested in going, so I started looking at resale tickets and noticed a ticket listed as "Hyde Lounge - Row SRO" for 62 dollars. I realize this has now been rebranded as The Tower Club and holds around 700 people. My questions...Is this a decent view to enjoy a concert from? Does the standing room only area get crowded/annoying or is it comfortable in this space? Does the price point of 62 dollars seem like a good deal for this section or is it usually this inexpensive at face value? Also, any other info on the pros/cons or tips/tricks for this section would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ✌️

Group DIY cheap eats?

My kids' soccer team is coming for a tournament on Thanksgiving weekend. Can you recommend anywhere we could do a casual "everyone head over here after the game" eating option? Most of the families are Mexican, so I doubt they'd go for americanized "mexican food," (or maybe they would??) but flexible otherwise.

Rain forecast this weekend

What is it like when there is rain forecasted for Las Vegas? Is it an all day rain that's dreary or does it clear up right away? I never been to Vegas when it was not sunny lol, so I just want to be prepared. My family and I are coming from Wisconsin for vacation here this weekend.

Got flaked on, so I'll be solo in Vegas for 2 weeks. 27M from Italy — who wants to grab a drink, hit some techno events, or do a road trip?

Warning: Throwaway account!

Long story short: had a whole trip planned around a girl who turned out to be playing both sides. The girl is gone, but the flights and hotel (right off the Strip) are non-refundable — so I'm doing this anyway!

I’m 27, Italian, super easygoing, and I refuse to spend two weeks rotting in my hotel room or dying of boredom.

I'll be in Vegas in mid November for two weeks!

I'm looking to meet up with some chill locals (or fellow travelers) to hang out, grabbing drinks, or hit some good techno/house spots (big fan of underground vibes). Also super down for daytime stuff like day trips to Red Rock or Death Valley if anyone’s driving that way.

First round of drinks is on me for anyone who rescues me from playing slots by myself all week. Hit me up or drop your favorite local spots below! 🍻

What’s everyone doing for Halloween in Vegas?

Thumbnail

I don’t recommend doing downtown, it’s far too hectic and I know from experience trying to do that last year. But if you get there relatively early in the night and kill time until it gets later and more full, you can make the most of it.

What’s everybody doing for Halloween this year? It won’t be on a Saturday until 2037. If you need some ideas, there’s some good ones in this article at casinos on the Strip and off-Strip too.

What are the must-dos in Downtown Las Vegas?

I'm visiting Vegas this Friday through Sunday.

I'm planning to head downtown on Saturday afternoon to play some match play offers.

What else is worth checking out in Fremont Street ? Any must-do activities, casinos, bars, or hidden gems you'd recommend?

Thanks!
