Hello all! My grandmother lives in Thornhill and for the past few garbage collection days she's noticed that when she wakes up in the morning to put out her trash, someone else has taken the liberty to put their own 3 garbage bags at the bottom of her driveway. The second time it happened she even put her own there the night before (she tries not to because of raccoons) and someone still put their own bags there as well.

She called the city and they essentially said they can't really do anything and I was curious what our next steps are. My initial thought was a camera but then again it might not identify who exactly it is or a license plate and then what would I do with a video of a blurry figure putting their trash at the bottom of her driveway.

Any input is appreciated! She'd have no problem with it if the person asked for a few weeks but that's unfortunately not the case.

Just flagged down a YR police officer, Nonna walking on Martingrove just before Steeles seems dioriented. A tow truck driver had stopped as well to try and assist the woman. Hope Nonna is alright and reunited with her family soon

Walking my dog on Rutherford and I realized they removed the strip of grass that was separating the cars from me so basically one small step and your dog is as flat as a pancake. Nice.

At this point we mind as well just rip out the sidewalks and add another lane since its already so miserable to walk and no one walks because of that.

Apparently they are planning to install bike lanes in the future on Rutherford but as you know Ford doesn't let you remove any car lanes so where do they go ?

Maybe split the side walk in half?

And then folks get mad no one uses the crap bike lanes with cars going by at 90km beside you.

This city is miserable.

I better not see NOBODY complaining about Vaughan traffic or the poor urban planning given 90% of you voted Del dookie. In fact I better NEVER hear a single Vaughan complaint again ya’ll slobbering on that baldies knob.

If you've ever wondered why Woodbridge Avenue feels so uniquely walkable compared to the rest of Vaughan, it comes down to timing.

The main street core was built back in the 19th and early 20th centuries—long before cars took over modern city planning. It was originally laid out around horse-drawn carriages, pedestrian trade, and local mills along the Humber River.

(It was called Woodbridge because of the wooden bridge that crossed the Humber River right near the mills)

That pre-car framework is the exact reason we have cozy shop fronts, tight streetscapes, and sidewalk patio vibes on Woodbridge Ave today while the rest of the area is built around 4-lane roads.

I want to go on a first date with this girl I’ve known for a couple of years, we’re both in our late 20s, introverted and we’re into good food and video games.

Restaurants or arcades are the first date spots I have in mind but I’m interested in hearing other recommendations across Vaughan since she lives there, idk the area but I don’t mind driving to her.

Before I moved to the VMC back in June, I was seeing a lot of ads for 1 br condos in the VMC going for 1700-1800/month. I ended up getting locked into a year long lease paying 2100 per month for a one br/1.5 bathroom. (Excluding utilities)I know this is still a decent rate but I’m wondering as someone who doesn’t have a car and doesn’t need a parking space was what I was seeing false advertising or are there really condos going for that rate? I ended up renting from a property management company so I know this may be the reason for the slightly higher rate, however from what I heard and as per my agent the condos that I was seeing for 17-1800 a month are extremely difficult to get approved for and they ask for 6 to 12 months rent upfront. I’m just wondering what’s true and what isn’t?

Looking for Free/Cheep Halloween suggestions around Vaughan this year.

So far, Cormorant Crescent heard they have awesome houses and maybe Thornhill Woods Haunted House looks really cool... heard great things about both.

I've also been to the Light the Night event at North City Church in previous years and had a solid experience. It was well organized, felt safe, had lots of candy, and was easy to fit into the evening without taking up hours and FREE! prolly gonna start my night here.

I live in a detached house in Vaughan, and I am thinking about adding a separate side entrance to my basement.

I am curious what others here think:

• How was the process, and how long did it take?
• Is there anything I should watch out for with the foundation cut, drainage, or stairs?
• Has the city ever checked on something like this if it was done without a permit?
• Can I getin trouble; I want to DIY this, and I don't want any troubles with city etc.
