Stop cutting old growth.

Thanks for coming to my tech talk.

FYI, at the meetings they held, it sounds like they are hinting at limiting backcountry access on this part of the island under the guise of environmental protection. Realistically, it would be to limit prying eyes as they take the last of the old growth.

Keep tabs on this.

They are limiting it because that's what the FNs want them to do.

Regardless of what they tell you, the FNs run the FLP process. The FNs want people out of their territory, and the FNs want to harvest OG and make money.

This really is a shitty situation for all outdoors lovers. There are greedy people in every society, and it's almost impossible to convice a greedy person to just not be greedy. Literally what regulations are for. But at the same time we have legal language that says we actually have to sign some treaties with First Nations bands first. We're in a legal limbo when it comes to First Nations sovereignty in this type of situation. So as it is, logging companies that do get access are essentially racing to get whatever they can before they can't.

Exactly. Some of these plans seem to be to keep us out of the wilderness. Plus they can get away with more logging.
