Markkanen in Finnish interview: "Quick X-ray didn't show anything too serious. We'll probably know more tomorrow."
I figured I'd share this since it might be actual news to most people for now. I haven't seen any mention about the possible severity of the injury anywhere else. Sounds like good news to me since I'm guessing if it was something more serious they would've seen it right away.
Full quote:
Wrist got stuck between two players. It flexed a bit and I heard a crunch.
We'll probably know more tomorrow. A quick X-ray didn't show anything too serious. Let's hope I got off lightly.

Carlos Boozer wanted his son in Utah. Here’s why he still likes the Jazz’s Darryn Peterson pick.
Insight into the draft class, Peterson and more from former Jazz player/ scout Carlos Boozer.

What Now?
Nobody likes to read the doom and gloom, so I'll try to keep it lighter than I want to.
Where do we go from here this season? We don't have our pick, so what happens now? Do we anticipate trading for someone in an effort to salvage the season in some way? Do we just give Keyonte, Ace, and DP full reign and call the draft pick a sunk cost wherever it lands? Do we try to stay out of the "relegation zone" so as to maximize the chance of getting a t5 pick so the best they can get is 6th under the new rules?
Sincerely, a disappointed and tortured Jazz fan

I hope we can outscore the spurs tomorrow…
After watching the Spurs dominate the kings tonight, we are going to be in for a tough game. I say let all the dawgs out and just shoot as much as we can. Key, Peterson, Bailey, just let them loose 😈. Our defense is already a little chaotic so if we don’t focus on outscoring them it’ll be a blood bath. Still excited to watch!!

Attending my first NBA game tmr
Hi all! I’m heading to the game tmr, and I’m super stoked to just be here. It’s my first time in the US and any help would be appreciated.
I would like to watch the teams warm up, and see them at the tunnel. Am I able to do this at Delta?
Also can anyone tell me what time I should arrive, what the traffic is like, and what’s transportation options are there? (I’m staying downtown)
Thanks in advance!

Bolerjack
Man I love boler but it’s getting to the point where it’s hard to ignore the constant mistakes on the mic. I don’t know if it’s a vision thing or a mental thing but his age is starting to show, he’s mixed up peterson and collier so many times, and the schedule read was just painful. Idk man. I just feel like he wasn’t always like this.

Coming from a more objective view, the Jazz will be fine, and casual Jazz fans have gotta be some of the biggest negative Nancys I've met, you're almost there.
TL:DR: injuries suck but the light is at the end of the tunnel, Ainge/Smith aren't trying to just make the Jazz bad forever and you guys will be competitive for a long ass time, this season is just the building block.
I travel the states a lot for work and run into Jazz fans a ton, I watch the Jazz as my 2nd or 3rd team and got to watch reruns of all of this season's games so far including tonight's live (my T-Wolves were on tho and choked).
"you can't tell a team who's tanked four years to be patient" yes I can actually you aren't Minnesota who had to watch 15 years of meaningless slop, you guys strategically tanked into Ace Bailey who's a legit future superstar and got lucky as fuck in getting Darryn who I can't believe people are already getting low on.
Injuries absolutely suck and y'all got done wrong in the luck category losing Lauri and JJJ, both might be out a bit, you guys are GOING to start bad. It wasn't an if, there wasn't a world where a team who barely played together would gel immediately. You're not tanking, Danny and Austin didn't fake injure your guys and I can't believe I talk to fans who actually think the Jazz are still tanking despite not owning their pick.
Utah still has a boatload of moveable picks to gain leverage in trade, they got a trade exception out of Walker Kessler that will almost guaranteed be used just like the Collins one that the same casuals said the Jazz wouldn't use, even Phoenix fans who are another fanbase I criticize sometimes, are never this negative. These Jazz fans who I'm referencing hated the whole roster that was built including Walker Kessler, but suddenly wanna act like they made a huge mistake trading him.
Social media fans are raging at the team and why? Because it's been a rough start, I get it, it sucks, but holy FUCK if you guys can't see how composed and see the oozing potential of Darryn, Ace and Keyonte, I don't know what to say. The Jazz are going to be back, they would've been 2-2 right now without the injuries and 2-2 is a lot better than 1-3.
They're going to improve, there will be bad stretches but if you just stop quite frankly Bitching about Will Hardy and Danny Ainge and give it a month, you'll get to witness a young team start making runs, and these things are going to grow. Apologies for me sounding negative Jazz bros but as someone who isn't a homer for Utah and was a massive fan during the Deron years and a hater during the Mitchell years, I had to get this off my chest.
Also buy those damn tickets so I don't have to hear those fraud laker casuals in the Delta center again
Edit: also I'm not kidding, most people are still way too low on DP (and even Cam Boozer), Darryn is doing things you don't see guys get till year 3+ and once his shot is consistent, you have an all star there, maybe an all NBA guy

The Jazz without Trip will reveal Ace Bailey and the leader he could become.
Trip is down, he's been a big voice for the Jazz and has been on the court a lot leading the team. JJJ's leadership and positivity has been the glue holding the team together as things have changed so much. Jovial and a a rapper who accidentally ended up in basketball, JJJ has brought vibes and a culture of Intensity. Memphis and the Lakers both have commneted on the Jazz being very competitive and physical. We're going to miss that.
Ace on the other hand has been a big more goofy, jovial, and fun. It's not just his position changing as the team is going to be playing more Josh Okogie and green as small forwards with Ace as the power forward. He's no longer in that position of being the main point of attack defender. More is being asked than that and his personality is going to be change a bit. He's been big about acknowledging sacrifices of ex-teammates at Rutgers and his special bond with his mother as she sacrificed everything to give him a shot at being in the NBA. He's got a new family we need to see him be the father now. The leader of the team.
The image now is that the team is Ace's, not JJJs while Trip is out. It's now time for Ace to show he believes in his teammates while he's the head of the table. That he can be the most vocal guy on the court and off the court driving the team. We've always been betting on Ace to carry the team, but now we're betting on Ace's ability to bring everyone with him.

Tough start to the season get in here guys, let it all out we’ll ride through this together
Just wanted to point out some silver linings even though it’s been a tough start to the season and now have injuries to our best players which is incredibly frustrating.
-Key is the real deal and worth every penny to his new contract
-Ace has been doing it all, amazing team player with a high IQ that’s been surprising me as this is just his second year but already looks like a true vet out there, facilitating and stepping up as a explosive scorer when he needs to be.
-DP absolutely looks like he belongs out there even as a rookie. He will only improve and his shot will start falling with some consistency, so far he handles the ball well and distributes capably to others as a backup PG. I feel like he’ll be a star one day.
I know it hasn’t been an ideal start but season is still so early, I still feel like we’ll turn it around.

Josh Green, Mo Bamba, Tony Bradley, Josh Okogie, Brice Sensabaugh
Just wanted to shoutout these guys tonight. They haven't had many minutes so far, still had a lot of impact. Almost got the dub. Strong vibes. Made the most out of it. Appreciate it!

Questions from a new basketball fan
Was wondering if someone wouldn't mind explaining to some newbies what happened with two things in the game last night;
1) What did Brice do that he wasn't supposed to that got him benched? I saw it mentioned on the post game thread but didn't really get it and
2) Why didn't Svi's bucket count? Was that just a bad call or is there a rule that I don't understand?
Thanks in advance for taking the time. Want to make sure we are learning every game. Go Jazz!

With how hard Ace and Key have been carrying this team, is anyone else concerned about potential back injuries?
We've already lost JJJ and Lauri for some period of time--I'd hate for Ace and Key to have their backs give out ala Ben Simmons
