University of Siena – Dentistry enrolment question for 2026/2027

Hi everyone! I’m hoping someone here might have gone through something similar and can share their experience.

A friend’s daughter has been accepted into Dentistry at the University of Siena. She’s an EU citizen and emailed them yesterday to confirm that she accepts the place.

She already has her CIMEA Statement of Correspondence (ARDI), and she’s currently getting her original high school diploma authenticated and apostilled.

The only concern is the Declaration of Value (DoV), which apparently can take up to 60 days to obtain.

Has anyone enrolled at Siena in a similar situation? I’m particularly wondering whether it’s possible to complete the enrolment first and submit the DoV later, and whether the place is safe while waiting for the document.

Also, can students attend classes in the meantime, or is everything on hold until all the paperwork is submitted? Any information about deadlines would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can share their experience!

Double Majoring

hello everyone!

im currently a senior in highschool who is interested in pursuing a double major in philosophy/psychology as they both really interest me and i want to go into the therapy field, is that worth it? how much more difficult is it to double major rather than major/minor?

i have an above average work ethic so i know i would be able to complete all of the work for it, but im not too sure on what the overlap between the two courses would be (and if theres anyone who has majored in either course i would love to hear feedback).

i am just unsure on whether or not it is worth it. please lmk!!

GUIDANCE FOR ACCA AFTER A LEVELS

I’ve done a levels and got bcd ( bio chem and physics) I am no longer planning to do medicine. Should I hop onto Acca or repeat to enroll into iba bachelors for accounting and finance. I’ve heard that without a degree it is difficult to get a visa !!! Please guide. Also repeating a levels would mean that I’ll be 21 when I’ll be in first year so I am somewhat worried to save time.

Tuition and Scholarship changes mid-semester

Hello! I am looking for some feedback on something that happened with my scholarship funding this week.

I received $1,500 in scholarships this semester, split between two scholarships. My university distributes these scholarships in August via email and applies the amount as a credit towards your tuition and fee statement (basically, it's deducted from what you would otherwise owe). My tuition was paid in full on September 1st and was due September 21st, and showed a balance of $0 at that time. I received an email today (October 27) stating I owed the university money, even though I owed nothing just a few weeks ago. They sent me the breakdown of my statement, saying changes had been made to one of my academic (solely GPA-based) scholarships and showed the date of change as October 13th. They removed $500 from my scholarship 6 weeks into the semester, 3 weeks after tuition was due. They are now saying I owe the difference for what they revoked, and that it is due October 29th (this is the first I have heard from them, by the way). Also, my university has a clear policy that if you meet a certain GPA, you are entitled to a minimum scholarship amount. I am now below the threshold for the dollar amount for my past academic year's GPA.

I have searched for clear policies on this matter at my institution and across other institutions, but found nothing. To my knowledge, I have not violated any of my terms. Regardless, my amount shouldn't change halfway through a semester, right?

I would love to know if anyone has experience with this or has gone through something similar.

PS. My friend received the same scholarship (different amount but same name) and had no changes incurred to her account.

Scared of not getting into a uni I want

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hello everyone, first time i make a thread asking a question like this

Anyways, lets get to my question 😃

Im deciding what faculty/uni i should go to, my girlfriend and I will probably go together to the same city so its easier to finance everything

Now, personally i have a PROOBLEMM, Im from Serbia and all 4 years my grade/GPA at the end of the year was around 4.00/4.15, because I did NOT like the way my school teached economics, it was 20+ papers every class and i just couldnt get myself to study it ( stupid of me because i will probably have an issue in enrolling rn )

Now, I want to ask, I dont want to waste my 3 decisions that I have, because if I get declined everywhere ill have to take a gap year again which i already took and I dont have enough time for it again

I want to enroll into a faculty that has IT and is adapting well to AI, I am great at languages and im willing to learn slovenian very well, what do you think are my chances in intering “Informatika in tehnologije komuniciranja (VSŠ)”
In Maribor?? Is the competition from the balkans too high and should i use on of my 3 decisions I have on that, i want you to be as direct as possible

Nova gorica/Maribor are the cities I like the most so pleaseeee I would like some help because im really stuck

The Midterm Experience…

You have a midterm worth 25% at 9am in the morning, you live an hour away. You wake up early and leave 3 hours before your exam to get in some extra study time before your exam. On the way you drive over a nail in the road and get a flat. You are lucky enough to be near the auto shop that you usually go to but they don’t open till 9. You have a spare tire and go to change it when you realize your spare tire is held in by a lug nut that requires a key to unscrew. You think ok I know I have it in my car I’ll just grab it. NOPE turns out the last time you went to the auto shop they took it out and didn’t put it back. So there you are no ride, no way to change your tire, absolutely panicking. You send an email to your prof an hour and a half before your exam to see if you can write it on Thursday. Then you send two more emails when he doesn’t reply. You call the department office and leave a voicemail. You call six times and nothing… finally the auto shop opens and they fix your tire for you. But, your exam in is 20 minutes and you are still an hour away. This was my experience this morning and I have yet to hear back from the department office even though they have been open for over an hour. I hope everyone else has a better experience with their midterms🥲

I really regret it

I wanted to go to a uni 100kms away from home but could not because of financial problems. It is a government university but hostel and admission might cost 16000(7000+hostel fee) rupees a year leaving all other daily necessities. My mother earns 30000 and i have a twin sister (so we are basically in the same situation)and my mother needs to feed us three and my maternal grandmother and caretaker too. My father earns 65000+ but only gives us 5000 each month. He lives separate with his elder sister. Is it selfish to think my father can provide more considering he needs to feed only two people. It's been a year but I just can't stop thinking about the uni i could have studied since my best friend is studying there. I can't help but compare our college because both are govt uni, their addmission cost is same which is 8000 for first year and 4000 for the consequent months. If we consider the hostel fee obviously things change but I just feel so sad.
