Pass Times Assignment

How do the pass times actually work? I understand it's based on the amount of units you have (+13 AP/IB units maximum), but my friend who has less units than me got an earlier pass time, and another friend of mine has her Pass 1 three days earlier than me (despite us having similar amount, if not the same, amount of units)

i heard they don't count ap/ib units and only cc units? but there is def a degree of randomness to it as well, i assume there r hundreds of ppl w the same number of units and only so many ppl for each pass time

i emailed registar and they said they only factor in 13 AP/IB units maximum
