UAE vs Reality 🤣

Watching the UAE candidate for UN secretary general position get absolutely flamed for the UAE’s atrocities in Africa by the UN Assembly members on live TV is the wildest shit!

You literally have the whole World putting you on blast with receipts! All these atrocities went down while she was a government minster and ambassador in the country and she never condemned it or spoke up once!

They set this woman up for failure 🤣

For people who are unemployed for more than 2 years here, what are you doing in your free time and why did you not leave UAE?

I started noticing some people who had been unable to find a job in the last 3 years(Mainly 1 of my neighbors and some friends of my friends).

That make me ask, why are they still living in UAE and more importantly, what are they doing with their time?

False Absconding case. My Rant and current situation.

• Upvotes

On 12th October, my boss had a meeting with one of the employees (Employee A) about the commission from a landlord. The employee told him the landlord wasn’t giving any commission, but my boss thought otherwise. He asked Employee A to take a Halaf (placing his hand on the Quran). The employee said that if my boss had any proof, he could bring it, otherwise he would not do it. Mind you, Employee A’s visa was about to expire on 30th October, and my boss had committed to renewing it.

That night, all of us received calls from our boss telling us to stop all communication with Employee A until he said so. I told him I had to contact Employee A the next day because I had a meeting that concerned him. He told me to figure it out myself.

On 14th October, Employee A called me from a private line. He told me there was an absconding case on his name and that the company owed him 35,000 AED. His SIM wasn’t working, and his email and CRM access had been cancelled. I went to meet him, consoled him, and told him I was there for him in any need.

On 19th October, because of Employee A’s complaints, our employer gave us our passports back. Meanwhile, I had closed a deal on which my commission was roughly 15,000 AED.

On 20th October, everyone’s SIM at the office stopped working (or they pretended it did).

At 1 am on 21st October, I got a notification on my phone that my properties were being transferred. I tried to log into the CRM and it wouldn’t let me in, and my email was spinning and not opening. I called Employee B, and the same thing was happening to him. Employee B had also closed a deal, with a commission of 20,000 AED. We both checked our status on the MOHRE app and Tasheel, and we both had absconding on our names.

We went to the office the next day and nobody was there. We recorded ourselves standing in front of the office. All three of us have been going to the office continuously, and nobody took any absence other than sick leave during the school opening days (due to flu).

Employee A is currently stuck in an absconding case because he complained about three things: his passport (returned), his money (employer refused), and the absconding. MOHRE told him that absconding is dealt with after the monetary issue is resolved, which means he keeps the absconding status until the money issue is settled.

Employee B and I both wanted to discontinue and return to our home country after our visas expire. We told MOHRE that we won’t claim any money, we just want the absconding removed. If anyone asks why: I have 2 kids, and I’m left with 200 AED in my bank account because I sent everything back home for an emergency, thinking I had good commission coming next month. I met with lawyers, who told me it would take more time to settle or win than I can survive. I have borrowed money from a friend for tickets, and there is a job waiting for me back home, which has made letting the money go for the sake of peace of mind a bit easier.

MOHRE hasn’t called us back yet, although we complained on 23rd October (Friday).

To anyone who has been accused of false absconding: can you please share how much time it takes and what routes you took? Would I be stopped at the airport if I try to travel?

USED AI to sort punctuation. -_-

TLDR: My boss had a commission dispute with a coworker (Employee A), cut off his access and filed absconding against him, then did the same to me and another coworker (Employee B) right after we closed deals worth 15,000 and 20,000 AED in commission, even though all three of us kept showing up at the office. Employee A is stuck because MOHRE handles absconding only after his unpaid 35,000 AED is resolved. Employee B and I told MOHRE we’ll drop any money claims if they just remove the absconding, since we want to go home and can’t afford a long legal fight. We complained on 23rd October and haven’t heard back. How long does removal take, what routes worked for you, and could I be stopped at the airport?

Also written by AI so spare me some -_-

Car rental and minor damage

Post image

What’s the best way to deal with some damage to a rented car? For example I’m renting in UAE monthly right now and got some rubber transfer with some potential scratch

I’m new to this and trying to figure out whether to try to do something on my own, try to find someone in Mussafah or report to the company I rent from

HR telling me to go to Tasheel myself to cancel my work contract/permit. Is this right?

Hey everyone, need some quick advice.

I resigned from my job at a school in Sharjah and am currently serving my notice period. My fixed-term contract isn't due to end until late 2027, but I am legally resigning and serving my notice. My occupational health card also recently expired on October 28. For context, I am on a family/personal visa, not a company visa.

When I asked HR about the offboarding process, the HR manager told me that I have to go to Tasheel myself to cancel my labor contract.

Can an employee actually cancel their own work permit at Tasheel? If HR is passing this work to me, how do I deal with them?

Moving from Dublin to Abu Dhabi

I have been offered a software engineer position in Abu Dhabi.

Offer:

Base Salary : €105,000
Education Allowance: 35,000 AED per year per child up to 3 children, (Thinking of negotiating this to 50,000)
Annual Flights,
Full Relocation Support,
1 month hotel stay until I find accommodation,
€3000 Relocation bonus (This seems to small)

What they hinted -

  1. They could give initial loan to cover the housing as it’s mostly annual rent payments. Not sure whether to take it.
  2. Loan to cover 1 car ( Again not sure to take it)

Current situation :-

Have 3 year toddler and one more on the way.

Partner won’t be working for 2 years considering we are expecting and she definitely needs a break.

We are open to apartments/villas within 30 minutes radius and I’m thinking of 30% of my salary max for rent. Company is in Al Rahah. We’re thinking of having a house help, I don’t know how it works but prefer something like cooking cleaning etc. may be full time.

Questions :-

  1. Is this a decent package for family of four?
  2. What can I expect as a living cost?
  3. Is there a possibility of saving say about 25% of the salary as main motivation to move is save as much as possible? I need some cash savings and I’m thinking of 10% as a pension strictly.
  4. Are there any hidden costs people don’t consider?
  5. Do people usually move their pensions?
  6. Is it worth moving to Abu Dhabi at this salary?

I’ll be paying mortgage back in Ireland but mostly rent should be able to cover it. I don’t intend to sell property.

Protein Drinks Packaging need to be improved.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Disclaimer: This post is just to raise awareness and caution people of consuming something that potentially has plastic in it.

I have been consuming Nada drinks as my morning breakfast alternative to boost my protein intake and ofcourse it tastes good too.

But lately, I have started noticing their drinks contain some kind of turquoise residue which matches with the color of the cap so I assume it is the microplastic from the cap itself. If it is not the plastic, what else could it be, willing to understand this more if I am mistaken.

I am not sure if others have also noticed this with Nada plain protein drinks but for me it is the 4-5 bottle and I have been noticing this consistently over past few weeks.

Just be careful when consuming such drinks. I am attaching 2 videos captured on 2 different dates 2-3 weeks apart. Also it is consistent with their "new" packaging and the one that is old. i.e 0% fat plain drink and "low fat" plain protein drinks.

I will post the older video in comments. Seems i cannot post more than one video here.

Did I get ripped off, or is this normal practice at dealerships in Dubai? What would you do in my situation?

I recently bought a Mitsubishi Pajero in Dubai.
The dealership called me and offered a special AED 249 car inspection and maintenance package. I booked an appointment and went there, only to be told that AED 249 was just for an oil change and didn’t include a proper car inspection.
They then offered me several more expensive services costing over AED 1,000. I agreed to a rust-proofing service because I wanted to protect my car.
After a little over two hours, I got my car back. The rust-proofing alone cost AED 999 + VAT (AED 1,048.95), and my total bill was AED 1,347.15.
When I checked the underside of my car at home, I could still see rust on several metal parts, and I couldn’t see any obvious difference.
I understand rust-proofing doesn’t necessarily remove existing rust, but I wasn’t given a clear explanation of exactly what work was done.
Did I get ripped off, or is this normal practice at dealerships in Dubai? What would you do in my situation?

Scammer Call

Recently Ive lost my job and I received my end of benefits directly in my ADCB account. All of a sudden today I received a call from a scammer where he was impersonating an ADCB employee and he said the account was about to be hacked and he needs me to open my UAE Pass application and upload all the documents directly. I caught the scammer red handed and he said "Fugg your mother" and cut the call. My question is when I had zero money in the account I havent received any calls ever. Where do they get their information from and is my data now considered compromised?

Please help me find a way forward — I am struggling with my visa overstay situation in Dubai, UAE

Hello everyone,

I am a Burundian man currently living in Dubai, and I am going through a very difficult situation.

I came to the UAE for employment, hoping to build a better future and support my family back home. Unfortunately, problems with my employment documents and visa situation left me facing overstay fines that I cannot afford to pay.

I have tried to resolve the situation through the appropriate authorities, but I am still struggling financially. I have very limited money for basic necessities, and I am worried about my future.

I am respectfully asking for advice from anyone who understands UAE immigration procedures. I would also be grateful for legitimate job leads, information about humanitarian assistance, or support from anyone who may be able to help.

I am not looking for trouble. I want to resolve my immigration situation legally and rebuild my life.

If you have experienced something similar or know a legitimate organization or person who can guide me, please leave a comment.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Any genuine advice or support would mean a lot to me.
