Question How come some new accounts get a lot of views and likes but others get none?

• Upvotes

I deactivated my account and decided to go back to my old unused one that I havent posted anything on, naturally when I post something it makes sense that it wouldnt get much if any views at all, but then i see accounts that are also new and have just started posting on twitter and they post something for the first time and they immediately get thousands of views and likes, how does that work? I want to start posting my art, but its not getting any views, and then theres people that have just started posting their art and are getting lots of views. Is there an actual reason for this or are they just lucky?

Question App keeps launching when trying to like a tweet from notification bar?

I’ve been using Twitter for years and have always been able to bring up the like and retweet options by long pressing the notifications on my lockscreen, from that I will hit whatever option and then be able to continue looking through the other notifis I’ve still got. However, over the past few days, I’ve noticed that every time I try to like a tweet via the notification bar, it will immediately launch the app as if I’ve clicked the tweet which is just plain annoying because I dont actually want to go into the app at that time.

My question is if this is just another new horrible update from elon or is this actually an issue with my phone instead?

Question Is Contact based Discoverability Double Sided?

If I sync contacts with Twitter but keep my discoverability off for both phone number and email, would those contacts then be able to discover me? I would like to connect with friends but I also have coworkers saved on my phone which I don't really want to connect with over social media.

Question How do I view the number of posts that I have "liked"?

I have found where the new "likes" section is but no longer can see the number of posts that I have liked that used to be on the top of the page, has this been moved somewhere? If this feature has been removed can anyone recommend a work around?

Question Twitter keeps turning my replies into posts.

I haven’t used Twitter in a few years and finally decided to revamp my old account. I ended up responding to something on my feed, but it keeps showing up as a post on my profile and not just a reply. All of my old comments are still under the reply tab. I /really/ don’t want to broadcast everything I say to my old followers’ feeds. Is this a new feature and, better yet, is it something that can be turned off? I feel silly even having to ask, but I’m at my wit’s end here. I’ve already deleted the ‘post’ twice out of embarrassment and I can’t figure out how to fix it despite multiple searches. Any clarification would be appreciated.

Question Do you use memes or GIFs when replying to comments on X? How do you pick them?

I’ve been noticing that replies with a good meme or GIF seem to get way more likes than plain text replies. But finding the right one takes me forever. I end up scrolling through the GIF picker, give up, and just type “lol”.

Curious how everyone else handles it:

  1. Do you actually use memes/GIFs in replies, or mostly text?
  2. How do you find one that fits? Built-in GIF picker, saved folder, Google, somewhere else?
  3. Has a meme reply ever gotten you noticeably more engagement or followers, or is it just for fun?
  4. Does it ever feel like too much effort for what it’s worth?

Mostly just want to know if this is a real thing or if I’m overthinking it.
