I burst out laughing at "I can't even show my face...because I'M WHITE!!" These guys have marmite for brains.

The setup was trying it's hardest to be super sympathetic, all the focus was on October 7th and interviewing teens who lived in the area of the attack or who lost friends/family that day. This was absolutely not indended to make Israelis look psychotic.

But the second they passed the mic off to the teens themselves the whole illusion was lost. Two of the teens were getting ice cream together, and the one with braces said she's voting for Ben-Gvir because he is promising to hang Palestinians and she thinks they should all be killed. Another one of the teens said his top issue in the election is national security and that can be achieved by removing Muslims from Israel. Not a single person expressed any empathy and every one of them intended to vote for one of the rightmost candidates.

Obviously this isn't news to anyone on this sub, but you almost never see such mask off shit in western media. It was surreal to hear such blatant fascist rhetoric followed by the commentary of some old bitch from the Israel Democracy Institute talking about how it's actually a modern western nation in terms of values. It came off as parody.

Results are not final but it looks like Netanyahu's bloc will have the largest seats, but not a majority. The Jewish opposition parties could form a government if they allied with the Arab parties, but most likely they are too racist to do it. Meaning most likely Netanyahu will stay in power as a "caretaker government" and hold new elections in the future, which he probably will do even better in.

If these results holds my very cynical take is that it will be good for pro-Palestine movement in USA. If Bibi lost there would be a huge push of the narrative that all the problems were caused by him, and now it's a new day in Israel, finally Israel has returned to sanity. There would be a lot of papering over the fact that the opposition is also very anti-Palestinian. Centrists and liberals would push to return to status quo relationship with Israel, and we'd be told "why are you still protesting? Netanyahu is gone."
