Picked up my first big boy bike at 35. I know it ain't much of a distance compared to some riders here but at 315 pounds I'm pretty damn proud.

trek model part 2
galleryI recently posted a post asking for help to understand the model of my trek emonda.
I think after many many researches i have found the model.
The details on my bikes are: “RSL race shop limited” on the frame and also “project one” so I instantly assume it is an RSL project one model.
I found this frame on the trek website: trek emonda SLR RSL H1, I have studied the details of the frame (like where the wires enter the frame ecc…) and they seem to match (I am adding some photos for you to judge circling with the same color the matching things)
what do you think? are they the same frame?thx for the help

Cleaned up the dumpster rescue (after and before pix)
galleryThrew some new parts on the ‘95 Mountain Track from the bin: wheels, tires, tubes, grips, new pedals, and seat. Need to replace the cranks too since they were part of a recall (thanks Reddit peeps for clueing me in on an earlier post)!
It rides like a dream so I’ll be taking it onto some local dirt roads for a full shake-down in the upcoming days.

trek bike
galleryHi everyone, I have a trek that I want to sell but I am not able to understand the model of the bike.
I am sure it is an emonda, it shows on the frame also “RSL race shop limited” but by adding the serial number on the trek website it says that my bike is a “EMONDA SLR P1 50 U5 Vapor Coa” and it doesn’t show anywhere the RSL thing.
Also by searching on the internet the model that comes up with the serial number i don’t find any bike with the same things. can you please help and give me some advices to understand the model?

Garmin Edge 1060
Has anyone tried to fit the Garmin Edge 1060 with the Madone SLR bars? The 1050 required a different mount. The 1060 has a reduced form factor and may fit with the stock trek out front mount.

FX+2 Rear Wheel Replacement Help
My father was in a pretty bad bike crash and is now healed and ready to ride again. Problem is the back wheel which houses the motor is bent. I'd be more than happy to repair it, but I can't for the life of me find where to buy replacement parts.
Took it to the shop and they will only replace it with a new motor which is a $900 repair. Anyone know how I can just buy the rim and spokes to repair it myself without replacing the motor?
Thanks!

Trek Madone xs Gen 8
Does anyone own a Madone gen 8 and size xs. I want to buy one but struggling with the look of the smaller Madones I find the slop is exaggerated. I always liked the look of the Treks but this time I’m not sure.

New seat post needed?
galleryFolks is my seat post too high? I essentially have it at the max capability, so I know on paper it is fine.
However for the sake of safety and structure integrity when going over hard bumps or so, would this be a concern.
Basically wondering if i should order the longer seat post from Trek?

I made a page that finds the cheapest in-stock Trek in the US
I built this for myself when I was buying my Trek. It turned out to be pretty useful, so I'm sharing it:
https://xxiaoweix.github.io/trek-price-finder/
It only lists bikes that are actually in stock at US shops. For each bike you see the cheapest shop first, and you can click to see every other shop that has it. Pick as many models, years, sizes, colors and states as you want, and click any column to sort. Your search is saved in the link, so you can bookmark it or send it to a friend. There's also a column for the lowest price I've seen for that bike anywhere in the US. The prices get updated once a week.
I use it to ask my local bike shop for a price match.
It covers Trek's 10 most popular models. If yours is one of them, just use the page. If you want a different model and know your way around GitHub, feel free to fork it and do whatever you want with it: https://github.com/xxiaoweix/trek-price-finder. It is even easier if you use Muse or other AI agents.
It's just a personal project I made for my own use. It's free. No ads, no sign-up.

Trek Madone xs Gen 8
Anyone own a Trek Madone xs. I want to buy one but I’m struggling with the slope of tube. On the smaller size of the Madone the slope seems exaggerated. Does it look bad?

Trying to Pick My First Road Bike and I'm Crashing Out
Ok - I'm looking into my first road bike. The bottom line is that I really like Di2. Like really, really like it, but don't want a race geometry (e.g. X-Labs RS7). I really like the endurance geometry of the Trek Domane AL 5. Would I be insane for getting the base model Domane and doing a Di2 upgrade? That might give me the desired geometry and flexability for wheel size etc. without going Nuts-0 with a full carbon Domane. I don't know all that much about 'what's appropriate' in the road riding world, but I want something that is generally comfortable and that I want to ride. Happy to hear how crazy I am or if people would support this kind of endeavour.

Clip-on aerobars on Aeolus RSL VR-C or Trek Aero RSL Road? (Madone SL 6 Gen 8, Ironman training)
- Bontrager Aeolus RSL VR-C: https://www.trekbikes.com/pt/pt_PT/equipamentos/componentes-de-ciclismo/avanços-e-acessórios-para-bicicletas/guiador/avanço-integrados/bontrager-aeolus-rsl-vr-c-handlebar/stem--factory-overstock/p/44339/
- Trek Aero RSL Road: https://www.trekbikes.com/pt/pt_PT/equipamentos/componentes-de-ciclismo/avanços-e-acessórios-para-bicicletas/guiador/avanço-integrados/guiador/avanço-integrado-trek-aero-rsl-road/p/48049/
Obrigado!

100 mile road bike ride
My Madone sl7 gen 8 is as good as it gets for speed and endurance. More responsive and lighter on climbs than my previous Domane gen 4 sl6.

After an embarrassingly long time in storage, I brought her back out
We are talking 3 years. The tires needed so much air, but it holds up great!
