At a General Manager training seminar this week at the regional distribution center. I'm very glad to work for a company that is accepting, especially in the Automotive industry. Truck handled the 130mi drive like a boss, especially considering a lot of it was the Mass pike and I-91... If you're from the Northeast, you know how speeds are on the Mass Pike... I'll just leave it at that 🤣

Hey everybody, my 2009 base model Pontiac Vibe is burning oil. The only reason I know this is because I went to go check my dipstick because I'm changing over my summer tires to winter tires and the oil level was below the safe minimum limit my car is supposed to be at. I checked the underside of the engine, no wet spots or dripping, and I checked the top end of the engine, no wet spots are dripping. So I turned my car on Let it idle for a bit and gave it a few low RPM revs. And I noticed a little bit of white smoke spewing out of my exhaust. Would anybody happen to know why this is happening or if it's an easy fix, or if it's just an old car thing that I have to deal with. Any advice would be great, thank you all so much :)

I’ll admit the pictures of the car on the track weren’t me driving but one of my teammates, but I drove for about an hour of today’s 8 hour race and 20 minutes yesterday before we had a fuel injector problem that forced us to spend the rest of the race repairing the car.

I cut an upper core support out of a car at the junkyard. We drilled out the spot welds and set it onto the bumper supports. After trimming the ends of the piece to meet the existing area of the old support I left. Fish plates, butt welds and paint it is done. The hood opens and closes exactly as it should. One fender and one headlight on. Still waiting for the condenser.

I started teaching myself how to do car work during the pandemic and thought I'd made a lot of progress. I do my own oil changes, tire rotations, and have replaced brake pads, rotors, and calipers on my previous car.

However, I was doing some brake work today and, after five hours, I couldn't get anywhere. On the front passenger side, I couldn't get the wheel off. On the front driver's side, one of the caliper pins broke off and one of the knuckle bolts (I think that's what they're called; connects the caliper to the car) was rounded and I couldn't get a socket over it. On the back driver's side, I got the caliper off but couldn't get the rotor off. I didn't realize how severe the rust was when I got the car.

I spent five hours on my car and got nowhere. Hell, I went backwards. I don't know what to do. I tried troubleshooting and getting some new tools and even that did nothing for me.

It's making me feel like I should just give up doing this stuff. I'm not a mechanic and I'm all self taught through youtube. Any advice and support is appreciated. I'm pretty down atm

Positive notes tho! I at least completed my oil change and started my roommate's car. And my partner talked me down quite a bit so I'm lucky there.

I made a birthday cake for one of my girls, can you guess what car she has?

My transcar was not exciting, or spectacular to look at or drive, just Blue 2015 Ford Escape (the Kuga outside of North America). But you were the first "adult" vehicle that my wife and I picked out for a purpose other than "just transportation". I needed space to carry my tools to and from work. You got me to and from work almost everyday for 8.5 years. You have been has been burried in both mud and snow on several occasions. You have gone off road to places where it should absolutely not be and made it back. A few weeks ago, the transmission catastrophically failed and I barely made it to work. It spent several days at the dealership and was not surprised by what they told me, "the fluid was gray with metal". You were trailered back home. And now, you reside in my driveway, barely able to move.

My wife and I got a had already be looking for a new vehicle,  but it still sucks. Because you look fine, but the transmission sound horrendous. I had you before my egg cracked, I had had before I started HRT.  I am genuinely sad, there were tears. Why did I form an emotional attachment to you? Maybe? am not really sure.
