Have the DVD, have it on DVR, sometimes just play it in the background while I'm cleaning the house.
And these lines send a chill

I finished a painting of Gord last year that Iād shared in this sub. (I ended up deleting my old account⦠bit of regret there lol) I wanted to reshare it if thatās okay!
Itās an 8 x 10ā painting of Gord. Itās my favorite picture of him, taken by Gie Kneaps in 1991. Itās just got his⦠energy.
Donāt get me wrong, I love all eras of the Hip. I hadnāt seen a lot of art of Gord in his younger years so thatās why I chose this as my subject matter. Working on this painting helped me get through a very awful time in my life and Iām proud of how it turned out.
Iāve added some other pics to prove itās me and no ai involved :)

A little over a year ago, I painted this piece, āGord Downieā from one of The Hipās final performances on their Man Machine Poem Tour, and realized Iāve never shared it on here!
Iāve been playing music by ear for around 17-ish years, so naturally I love to paint pieces that are, in some way, related to music. Iām also a big fan of The Tragically Hip, so it felt pretty special to bring this piece to life. Iāve more recently been able to start attending more live concerts & performances, so Iāve been loving being able to start taking my own reference photos, but the reference photo for this piece was taken by photographer Richard Beland, who graciously allowed me to reference his photography to create this painting!
& for some shameless self-promo, although the original has sold, I do sell prints through my website/shop, www.teresart.ca, and also on etsy https://teresatreen.etsy.com š I also make custom/commissioned paintings, and would LOVE to paint another Gordie portrait!! So if youād ever like me to paint you an original Gord Downie piece (or a non-Gord Downie piece for that matter), I would love to brainstorm with you! (all of my commission & contact information can be found on my website).
Let me know what you think!!

This little chap was found in our parking lot yesterday in the rain. Decided that Gordie was a fine name for him.

Have we ever tried to get Gord Downie on Canadian money? I know there are rules about what makes someone able to be on money but the PM could change these rules.
Gord being on a paper bill would be more representative of what defines Canada than our parentās Prime Ministers.
Couldnāt we do a petition or something?

I'm decorating a new space and wanted something special for it, so I reached out to u/Hlantaart to see if he'd do a custom Gord piece for me. He did and this is it. I couldn't be more thrilled with how it captures his magic. Can't wait to hang it up!

Hampton Beach Casino (After the show on the beach Gord gave my friend his broken banana - the photo is of the actual banana.). She still has it to this day and swears that if there was a fire she might save the banana before the kids.

My vote would be for The Moment is a Wild Place. Amazing singing on that song.
