I tried to make some homemade Swiss Chalet. Roasted chicken and chalet sauce, simple mushroom dressing, fries, baguette and veggies. Happy Thanksgiving Canada! 💕 A couple midwesterners from Ohio

Pic #2 because I forgot to add the dollarama no-bacon bacon bits… lol.
I wanted to make thanksgiving dinner for only myself before I go home next weekend and have the real thing!
This is my vegetarian version… stuffing is my favourite but I didn’t have the ingredients or patience
Yes that’s just tofu and gravy, it was all really good though! Green beans could have used a few more minutes
Accidentally burnt my finger and flung a pan across the kitchen in the process 😭

Relished this amazing cheezy avocado toast at a nearby restaurant today. Just loved it.

I had made my own chicken broth from a whole chicken carcass I broke down the week before and chicken spines I had frozen previously with leek tops, carrot, garlic, onion, lemon, salt, pepper, parmisean rind, thyme and basil, simmered for 3 hours then strained it and set aside
For the veggies I just did whatever I had on hand for the soup
- sweet potato
- carrot
- garlic
- onion
- corn
- Swiss chard
- grape tomatoes
For the chicken it was what I had in the freezer which was 1 chicken breast and 7 drumsticks, I took the skin off the drumsticks and put them in a pot with just enough water to cover the meat, salted the water and brought it to a boil, then turn it down to low and simmer for 20ish mins then remove and shred chicken
Then build your soup as you normally would!
