He couldn’t have been nicer. He signed my copy of With The Old Breed and said Eugene is the role he is most proud of in his career.

He shared a funny story about the closing scene in episode 7 where he jogs out to the ocean to bathe on Pavuvu. They were filming in Australia in August 2007 and the beach they were filming at had nets after a certain distance in the water. This was because of jellyfish that would come near the shore in late September. They had planned to shoot that scene later, but he insisted on filming it right away because he didn’t want to get stung, so it was the first scene he filmed for the show!

He said that even though it’s the role he’s most proud of, filming really affected him and several other main cast members mentally because of the content. He recalled spending the next 4 months doing very little except golfing with his brother back home in upstate NY. He added that he and Rami are great friends that go way back and he was super excited to work with him again on Bohemian Rhapsody!
