Been watching the show with a friend, decided randomly that her and I would guess who the killer is, ended up getting 3 in a row correct.

Watched the show on my own and got the next 2 in a row correct. Does anyone else feel like the killers are predictable? It’s almost ruining the show for me because I end up knowing who the killer is a quarter into the show and I can’t stop myself from guessing lol.

I’m not sure what it is that makes me know who it is. I think it’s the way the killers are introduced in the beginning of the show when we don’t know they are the killer.

Does anyone else relate to this?

I completed my series yesterday and I'm still not over this series.

So I just finished binge-watching the show!! I'm a bit embarrassed to say that for a month and a half all I did was eat, sleep and watch The Mentalist.

I feel like maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't bingewatched it (mostly because at some points it gets repetitive if you're watching the whole thing all at once, and you probably get to appreciate it better if you take your time with it). Nevertheless, it's still a great show!! I simply couldn't stop watching it. Part of why I love it is the nostalgic feeling it gives me? They don't make TV shows like they used to in the early to late 2000s.

I wish we'd gotten to see more of Jisbon, their relationship and future together, but I get it—this is not a romcom. I will say though that Jane and Lisbon have become my favorite TV couple ever. Seriously. I'm gonna miss them a lot!

Anyways, I feel like I could say many other things but also everything has been said already. I guess I'll just say, I'll miss you Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon!!

Kinda embarrassing but last night I actually had a scary dream about red john, saw the smile and a lot of blood everywhere , scared the absolute shit out of me....

From season 5 to the finale, everything felt rushed; still, I would have liked at least one or two more episodes showing whether Jane and Lisbon leave the FBI, and what Jane’s life looks like after he starts over—too many questions left unanswered.

Did anyone else have the same feeling when they finished it?

As soon as I saw that the name of the episode 7 of season 6 was "The Great Red Dragon" something clicked in my mind.

First I thought of the Thomas Harris book "Red Dragon", which I first read about a year ago, and found it funny but then I came to me.

In the book a killer is obsessed with a painting by William Blake, the same William Blake mentioned in the mentalist as a inspiration for Red John, and by this point It all became strangely funny to me...

In the book the climax and plot twist is when the killer fakes his death to then suprise attack the main character on the last chapters to try and kill him. He fakes his death by burning down his house and misleading a witness that was there in the fire with a body that is falsely identified as his.

This started to feel familiar when the explosion on Patrick's house was "confirmed" to have killed Macallister and I started theorising it since he also had the tattoo.

I then dropped the theory because it was just obvious and made more sense for it to be Bertram but who would have guessed as soon has he said he wasn't Red John I instantly thought GODDAMMIT HOW DID I GUESS IT ON A HUNCH

Safe to say I was fooled but now that it's over I feel like I am Patrick Jane catching on this detail😂

I searched around but never saw anyone pointing this out. Could this have been planned or am I just crazy?

Hi everyone, i dont really know what to say. I just finished watching mentalist…. Peak absolute peak really really well written story acting is immaculate. All in all well put together. Chefs kiss one might say. Non the less. What happened with Red John…. I get it it has been mentioned here BY EVERYONE… but mostly for wrong reasons or i haven’t been able to find same insight. So here is my take on it. Yes im disappointed like everyone else heck i even wished Patrick was him… but I watched it with interest and observed every play every word and bulid up to the reveal it was perfectly well put together….
Until it wasnt as soon as Patrick narrowed down to 6 suspects I thought or lets say everyone thought it was Kirkland many factors pushed in that direction after he was shot dead it was clear as day it has to be… the writers are pulling one on us. On that basis that its somebody completely else… after it was made clear it must be some of those three guys (sheriff, CBI director and FBI Agent). Rest yall know my problem with it whole thing is it felled so rushed after that we got more and more screen time from sheriff it felt pushed on us like there is no build up no nothing its like this needs to be done making the whole series go to waste and ok i can get by how the whole red john thing ended but was the majority of season six and whole season seven being so “low budget” well written but really really really pushed and rushed as much as possible…. Tbh up until the whole thing wiht finally catching red john show was immaculate around it and after that it was meh like any good corporation it starts good then greed destroys it. I hope im not wrong on my school of thought around it i dont want to people think that i didnt love the show it was good characters perfectly casted story well written but it let us all down a bit. Anyways my whole point of it is after season 5 everything got rushed for some reason and i dont like that.

Especially in these scenes and many many more.

It's crazy how he can be smiling and jolly in one scene and in the next completely distraught. The best was probably in the season 3 finale where he has that look of anger and hatred then turn into sadness over what the fake red john said about his daughter (second image) and another one of my favourite scenes was what Kristina said to Jane about his daughter never waking up, you can see his face turn from curiosity to shock and then to tears. Unbelievable acting. It's a blessing that the right people were cast for this show because I can't imagine anyone else acting as Patrick jane.

It's criminal he never won an Emmy for his performance on the show but it goes to show that you never truly need an Emmy to become the greatest actor of all time.

Their death doesnt make sense to me. Did they kill off Haffner so Lisbon will end up with Jane? Stiles death is also unnecessary.

and I’m soo obsessed! I’m almost done watching House and I was looking for a show with at least 6 seasons and decided to give this a go. I’m about to finish season 2 and I can just watch this show all day.🤣

Basically as the title says. Are there any major things that happen in season 7 that you wouldn’t already know from season 6? Not really much that I can be spoiled on?

I feel as if he is actually like well written and given something like actual character unlike other shows where its like: "Hi, I'm the villain"

I was just curious where this house is located in real life, everywhere else has it's shooting location listed online but there seems to be nothing about this house? From an architectural viewpoint it looks like a very cool / interesting looking design, especially the garden as seen later so was trying to find it.

Anyone know where it is? Or is it all a set?

As a first time watcher I was/am a little thrown off by the S6 soft reboot. I'm at episode 16 now, so getting used to the FBI, cast changes, etc. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it and still deciding if I like the changes, dislike them, or just indifferent. So far, I'm leaning toward not liking the FBI team, but maybe they'll grow on me.

What are your thoughts? Did you like the change? Hate it? Change your mind one way or the other?

Wow is all I have to say. Personal opinion but one of my favourites that I’ve seen so far, plenty of twists and turns and when I was expecting Lisbon to show up in the nick of time, nope someone very unexpected.

Now I feel empty lmao, I miss it already. I need a new show.

Fire show, beginning to the end, Red john search, and even the RJ reveal was good for me. The CBI team grew on me, But the FBI team was pretty good as well, especially Dennis Abbot.

My only gripe is what they did to my boy LaRoche. 💔

How did Rigsby survive getting shot like that? Why didn't he bleed more?
