Brewing a Xigui tea pearl in a gaiwan
Some days, I’d rather skip the tea pick. 🍵
A Xigui tea pearl makes that easy: a little ball of compressed leaves, ready to unwrap and brew in a gaiwan.
Loose leaves, tea cakes or tea pearls — which do you usually reach for?

Not sure of the teapot maker, it just says "Made in England" and has a gold 2064 handwritten on it - so maybe Sadler? It was my husband's grandmother's teapot and what got me started with "the fancies"
The teacup/saucer are Elizabethan that I procured from eBay.
This is a nice tea, I added maple syrup as recommended here on Reddit, and will stir in just a spot of cream

Original Content Adagio Teas Raspberry Earl Grey this afternoon
Very nice flavor, has dried raspberries in it. It was suggested on another sub and I have been enjoying it in the afternoons. Not a very strong presence of bergamot, but pleasant all around.

Original Content Simpson & Vail's Literary Tea in my latest cup
This is my favorite cup, an Aynsley that I purchased from eBay. I chose this green tea because I did not want to obscure the inside of the cup - it is very nice green tea blend with fruit, rose petals and a dash of Amaretto to make it interesting.

Tea with Mom
This photo is 3 years old but I love it because I had tea with my mother. She's gone now and I miss her so much. No matter how old we are, we always want our mommies in this world.
