I will be in Tbilisi next week for a week. Where should I go to meet friendly people to just hang out? Iโ€˜ve booked a hotel in the old town so somewhere around there. Iโ€™m a SE Asian/European female in my 30s. Is it safe to go night out on my own? Thanks.

Iโ€™m planning a trip to Tbilisi and have a few questions if the lovely ladies here can answer please

  1. What precautions/safety measures do I need to take and prepare for? In terms of accommodation, going out, walking around, etc.
  2. What kind of clothes do I pack for two week trip mid November? Where to shop there?
  3. Any products that are not quite available in Georgia that I need to bring with me?
  4. Places to go and visit alone, cafe suggestions, and so on?

Thanks in advance x

Edit: to add, this is NOT an invitation for weirdos to DM me to โ€˜talkโ€™. Jeez man.

Still in Tbilisi, still alive, still looking for a place to crash.

A quick update for those who read my last post about the mini-hotel interview and asked how I'm doing. I'm doing. Barely, but doing.

I'm looking for a place to stay for 1-2 weeks. A room, a floor, a couch, anything. No hostels, please. I'm looking for something clean and safe. I can offer Russian lessons, help around the house, or just human decency in return. I'm a lawyer, I write, I have a sense of humor and no illusions left.

I have 105 lari to my name. That's not a cushion, that's a countdown. But I'm a survivor, and I'm not done yet.

If you have something, or know someone who does, DM me. If you don't, a share helps too.

How and where (in Tbilisi) do you meet new people?

How and where (in Tbilisi) do you meet new people outside work, when you are no longer a student. I want to expand social circle, based on shared interest or even based on mutual understandings and just vibe or something. Are there any platforms i could look up some hobby clubs/groups or activities available, events etc. Or even spaces i could directly go and explore (for regular attendance not as a one time visit).

Martial arts group training for beginners in Tbilisi?

Iโ€™d like to beat the autumn blues by signing up for some group classes in martial arts, self-defence, or boxing. Iโ€™m a complete beginner, so Iโ€™m looking for beginner-friendly classes taught in English. Could you recommend any places? If you know the prices, that would be really helpful too!

Iโ€™m also open to gym recommendations that offer group classes like yoga or boxing. Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Has anyone else struggled to feel welcome in Georgia?

Iโ€™ve lived in Georgia for about two years, first in Batumi and now in Tbilisi. Iโ€™ve often found peopleโ€™s interactions cold or rude, and Iโ€™ve had a hard time with customer service and public services. When we lived in Batumi, my husbandโ€”who speaks Russianโ€”seemed to be treated more warmly than I was. I was pregnant at the time and already feeling depressed, so we moved to Tbilisi hoping things might feel different. But Iโ€™ve continued to feel unwelcome here.
My experience giving birth was so traumatic that Iโ€™m now afraid to go through pregnancy again. Trying to connect with other local mothers has been difficult too; some experiences have left me feeling judged or taken advantage of. And the staring is another storyโ€”it often makes me feel uncomfortable and conspicuous.
I know everyone is different, and Iโ€™m not saying every Georgian is like this. But after two years, Iโ€™m struggling to understand why so many expats choose to stay. Have other expats felt this way in Georgia, or had a very different experience? What helped you feel more at home?

Ps. I adore this jacket and don't wish to replace it. But it is hard to fix due to the material.

Anyone ordered Coach bags from the USA to Georgia? Need help with customs and shipping

Title: Buying Coach bags from the USA/UK to Georgia โ€” customs and shipping?
Hey everyone! I live in Tbilisi and Iโ€™m not a Georgian citizen. My friend and I are planning to buy Coach bags worth around $800 or less in total, possibly from the USA or UK.
Iโ€™m confused about how delivery to Georgia works, whether we need a forwarding company, how long shipping takes, and how much customs fees would be.
Has anyone ordered Coach bags this way? I have never done this so any suggestion advice woulve be really appreciated โค๏ธ

Tbilisi in December

Hey everyone,

Iโ€™ll be visiting Tbilisi for a week from the 8th December and I am wondering if anyone knows if there will be any Christmas activities around this time?

Also where is the best place to see snow? Is it worth renting a car or is public transport / a tour the best option?

Thanks so much and I canโ€™t wait to visit Georgia! ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ช
