Does anyone actually know how much of the stuff about Pity Party (Girls Club) is true?
I’ve listened to Pity Party (Girls Club) for a while, but I never really followed the band or the members closely online. Recently I started going to concerts again and following more of the bands I already listened to. I ended up seeing Pity Party (Girls Club) live in Pomona and then again in Echo Park, and I really liked them live. After I started following them and seeing more Ppgc content on Instagram, I began noticing comments telling people not to support them and mentioning things the members had allegedly done.
So naturally I Googled it. I really couldn’t find much at first. Then I found some Reddit posts talking about allegations involving the band, and eventually I went over to TikTok.
That’s where I started seeing a LOT more comments under videos from people going to their shows. A lot of them repeat the same allegations and share the same screenshots.
One of the things that keeps coming up involves the drummer. I found comments from a woman identifying herself as his ex saying that he bragged about calling ICE on her and that she has a five-year restraining order against him for domestic abuse. There’s also a screenshot being passed around of an account apparently connected to him saying, “Reported everything to ice.” That confused me because when I saw Ppgc live, they were openly saying “fuck ICE.”
Then there are much more serious allegations involving Julian.
One woman says she used to be the bassist for Ppgc and accuses Julian of raping someone close to her and taking advantage of her that same day. Because that’s obviously an extremely serious accusation, I wanted to know whether she had actually been connected to the band. I started looking through older Ppgc videos and ended up finding a video she was in. Through that I found her Instagram, which is still active, and when I scrolled back there were older photos of her with members of the band and posts that seem to confirm that she really did play with them. So that part at least made me realize that the person making the accusation appears to have actually known them. Obviously that alone does NOT prove the accusation itself.
There are also screenshots being circulated of what supposedly are Julian’s arrest/criminal records, including some pretty serious charges. But that’s another thing I’m unsure about. How do we know the screenshot actually belongs to the same Julian? And even if it does, what were the actual outcomes of those cases?
That’s really why I’m making this post. I keep finding the same allegations, the same screenshots, and the same comments repeated across different accounts. But I’m having a hard time figuring out how much of it has actually been independently verified versus everyone reposting the same original information. I’m not trying to defend anyone or dismiss the women making these accusations. Some of what I’ve found is serious enough that I don’t feel comfortable just ignoring it.
Does anyone actually know more about this? Especially anyone who knew the band, was around the LA scene when these allegations first started circulating, knows of any public statements from the band or the people involved, or knows of reliable sources that confirm any of this?
Basically: how much of this is actually verified?
