Hi, I'm responsible for this BG! My instructions were "We need the bowler hat but other than that, go nuts with easter eggs and don't get us in trouble with legal." So everything is slightly tweaked but is likely exactly what you think it is. I may or may not also be a huge fan of Berserk. (:

Have the BW version!

I’m surprised that you got the Sky hook from Bioshock Infinite in the scene

Wow! I rarely get to interact with an artist on a show I watch! Assuming you are not BSing me, fantastic job!

This episode is far and away the best episode of a fantastic series. Excellent work!

Slightly different- as is everything in that weapons vault.

But essentially- yes.

I knew that looked a lot like the Spear of Cassius. Someone really liked their rebuild of Evangelion.

Or so I'm told

We should look at it this way: Mxy could have had the bowler hat AND the Wabbojack...

u/PlatinumSukamon98 May 13 '25

I see Naruto fuuma shurikens, Usopp's Kabuto slingshot, the Little Cricket, the Dragon Slayer sword, and about half a dozen weapons I recognise but don't know what they're from.

u/Comuniity May 13 '25

the Wabbajack is right above Mxys head too

It's more than that, every weapon there is a reference to something else. I can see the Noisy Cricket from MIB, the melee weapon from Bioshock Infinite, maybe Kitana's fan from Mortal Kombat, that staff is from Elder Scrolls, the bow looks familar but I can't place it. You get the idea.

u/Icy-Performer-9688 May 13 '25

Is that the noisy cricket from MIB and is that a spear for evangalion

That panel is filled with easter eggs to animated series. My favorite was the dart rifle from Venture Bros.

It certainly is esque but it's not the actual weapon. Just like there's something up top that looks like a cosmic cube.
