Super GT deserves a much bigger international audience. I think it’s time we made that demand properly, together.

For fans outside Japan, following Super GT live in English has become unnecessarily difficult. With Motorsport.tv closing, access has become fragmented, and the current options don’t provide a straightforward, globally accessible English-language race broadcast.

Meanwhile, Super GT is exactly the kind of championship international motorsport fans should be discovering: spectacular GT500 machinery, an incredibly competitive GT300 class, manufacturer rivalries, unpredictable racing and a character that makes it different from almost every other series.
Look at what’s happening elsewhere in GT and endurance racing. GT World Challenge streams its races free on YouTube with English commentary and reported 9.7 million live views across its Portimão finale coverage in October 2026. The Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie also makes English-language live coverage available. Free access and commercial motorsport are not mutually exclusive.

There’s also a real opportunity to bring new fans in. Max Verstappen’s recent GT racing activity and his drive in a Nissan GT500 at Fuji have put this kind of racing in front of a much wider audience. But interest only becomes a lasting fanbase if people can actually watch the championship.

Importantly, GTA chairman Masaaki Bandoh said in May 2026 that international broadcast negotiations were ongoing, that bringing the existing English-language coverage to Europe was possible, and that GTA was looking for production costs to be covered rather than seeking a broadcasting-rights fee.
So I don’t want this to be just another thread complaining about streaming. I want us to demonstrate that an international audience exists and give GTA, manufacturers and potential broadcast partners something concrete to take seriously.

What I’m proposing

A coordinated international fan campaign asking for:
Free, live English-language broadcasts of Super GT races on YouTube outside Japan and existing restricted territories.
Qualifying coverage and full-race replays wherever practical.
A sustainable arrangement that covers production costs and creates value for teams and sponsors.
A pilot broadcast if a full-season arrangement isn’t immediately possible.

How long you’ve followed Super GT.
Whether you currently watch races live, watch delayed replays, or struggle to watch at all.
Whether you’d watch every round if a free English-language stream were available.
Whether you would consider attending a Japanese race, buying merchandise or supporting sponsors if the championship became easier to follow.
I’m going to collect the responses and build a genuine international fan-demand report to send to GTA, the manufacturers, teams, drivers and relevant broadcast partners.
Please also share any useful evidence of international interest: race-viewing figures, fan communities, previous broadcast experiences or examples of successful free motorsport coverage.
This isn’t about attacking Japanese broadcasts or demanding that people work for free. It’s about making one of the world’s most distinctive GT championships accessible to the people who want to watch it.

If you want to watch Super GT live in English, please make yourself heard. Let’s turn that demand into something measurable.

During Round 7 of the 2026 SUPER GT season at Autopolis on October 18, Tomonobu Fujii, driving the No. 777 D’station Aston Martin Vantage GT3, was involved in a fierce battle with the No. 7 CarGuy Ferrari and the No. 45 Ferrari towards the end of the race.
However, the situation escalated after the chequered flag.
On the cool-down lap, Fujii made contact with the rear of the No. 7 Ferrari, driven by Zak O’Sullivan, at Turn 1, causing the Ferrari to spin.
The stewards imposed a two-lap deduction on the No. 777 car’s race result for dangerous driving.
Separately, Fujii was handed 10 penalty points from this single incident under SUPER GT’s Driving Moral Hazard Prevention System.
According to media reports, the contact was considered a deliberate act of retaliation. However, the official race results describe the infringement as dangerous driving involving a rear-end collision with Car No. 7, without explicitly stating the driver’s motive.
Under SUPER GT regulations, accumulating 10 penalty points results in a ban from the next race event.
As Fujii received all 10 points at once, he immediately reached the suspension threshold and was banned from both races at Motegi on November 7–8, including the rescheduled Round 3 and the season-ending Round 8.
D’station Racing has consequently appointed Tsubasa Kondo as his replacement.
This is an extremely unusual case, as the full 10-point threshold was reached through a single incident rather than an accumulation of multiple offences.
Importantly, these were disciplinary penalty points, not championship points. The 10-point sanction was separate from the two-lap deduction imposed on the race result.

On October 26, TEAM ENEOS ROOKIE—a competitor in the Super GT GT300 class—announced that it will switch its race car to the Toyota GR GT3 Concept for the third and eighth rounds of the Super GT series, to be held from November 6–8 at Mobility Resort Motegi in Tochigi Prefecture. Although still a concept model, the GR GT3—first unveiled in December 2025—is finally set to make its competitive debut. The entry will participate as an "open entry" under special authorization.

It was three years ago at Mobility Resort Motegi where Ritomo Miyata won the Autobacs SUPER GT Series GT500 championship and signed off from Japanese competition to begin an arduous three-year excursion in Europe.

Honda has vowed to keep up the pressure on TOM’S and Toyota after its hopes of a first-year SUPER GT title were given a significant boost by a fourth victory in a row for the HRC Prelude-GT in last weekend’s Autopolis round.

Look at all those sparks flowing around the skirt area. A bit revealing perhaps but spectacular looking photos like this one will always be welcomed.
