Ding diddling ding - ding ding ding! Inexplicable Space Habitatraker!

/My blender addon for building atmo/cloud/terrain for non-uniform shapes is almost done.
Just need to resolve some antialiasing issues when it comes to long strips where the edges of the atmo will often be visibly jaggy.

Holy fuck. imagine what it would be like to live on one of those and look up.

I am 100% certain that if humanity survives millions of years and doesn't get wiped out by AGI or something, then our descendents will one day construct space mega structures and probably they will style them the way we do skyscrapers.

I so wish the tools existed to properly visualise it from ground level without cheating existed!

Funny actually, speaking of looking up - as it turns out this shape reflects the structure terrain in the oceans of the adjacent spar. Took me a minute to work out that’s what it was doing, rather than some odd render error.
So not only are you looking up, you’re seeing your own world reflected back at you.

Awesome work. Would you please elaborate on what you mean by "without cheating"?

Is it just a matter of needing some ridiculous amount of rendering time or GPU power for such massive object/model?

Curious how this is done and what you would need to acheive your "true" desired result.

Would love for a sci-fi James bond movie like this.
