Showcase of suburban hell One of the most depressing suburbs I've ever seen. Texas, USA. This is real.

Showcase of suburban hell Because of the layout of this subdivision, the two marked houses on this map are an 8 minute drive apart or 51 minute walk (Eureka, MO)
And yes, if you live at the north end of vista hills drive, to get to your house you must drive all the way south on legends view drive, turn left twice and drive all the way north on vista hills to your house, there is no other option. Each street in this photo is about a full mile long

Showcase of suburban hell In my non-American mind, Texan suburbs are the closest thing to hell in the developed world

Endless sprawl of Mcmansions, energy plants, copypaste strip malls and monstrous superhighways with 20 lanes per direction, you need a car to get literally everywhere, there is no scenery because everything is flat and ugly, it's miserably hot for months on end, it's polluted, it won't stop expanding, and on top of that it's MAGA central. Sorry for anyone who lives there.

Showcase of suburban hell Pushing the Limits of Waterfront Property in Conroe, TX
The development is Lakes at Crockett Martin. The developer shoehorned tons of snout houses along a single horseshoe-shaped street. A walking path around the lake would be way too much to ask at this price point.
You'll almost feel like you're living the suburban dream sitting on your back porch staring at the pesticide runoff-filled swamp. Better hope nothing is blocking the one street if you live at the end and need an ambulance.

Showcase of suburban hell Another “Luxury Community” being built in Austin, TX
No privacy on the balcony, No desire to even make them look desirable, barely a yard it’s basically just somewhere for your pet to use the bathroom, and you can already tell it’s gonna be HOT.
That’s what they call “Luxury Living” nowadays.
