Hi everyone, I only just got the game recently at the latest Steam sale and was loving it (I played the original X-wing and TIE fighter games endlessly as a kid).

Unfortunately I've now encountered the dreaded endless loading bug for the Mon Cala mission. I've tried a bunch of workaround to no avail.

I was wondering if anyone has ever tried using someone else's save file to get around it so I can continue with the story missions. Is that even possible to transfer save files? I would really hate to have to give it up.

I got the game back when it first came out and I absolutely loved it. I used to play so much and had lots of fun. I was also damn good at it ngl. I recently downloaded the game again after I got some nostalgia playing Ace Combat 8. I finished the campaign and immediately tried to matchmake for a dogfight and fleet battle. After 5 minutes in the queue I lost hope. Do people still play this game ? I looked online and found out that many still do but only because they have their own little groups of friends. I don’t necessarily want a fixed group of people to play with every day but I’d like to find some casual groups to play with. Are any here ?
P.S I USED to be good but now I’m pretty sure I suck ass. Also, I play on Ps5 and I love playing as the empire. I hate rebel scum

So I left mid match when the public servers were still very active on this game, life gets in the way sometimes ya'll know how it is. My question is, does this have any effect on private matches like those hosted by some of the discord groups here, and is there any real way of getting rid of the early leaver penalty at this point?

I've thought about reaching out to EA to get it removed, but considering this game is no longer supported I've no clue if that is even worth the effort.

Very nice to see Lindon Javes getting some time in the sun. Haven't really seen many of the characters from the game in any material since it came out but Star Pilots is feeding us quite nicely in that regard. In addition to the Lindon stuff there are also a few interviews from Varko Grey and numerous name drops for both Vanguard and Titan Squadron.

I got it day one on Xbox one when it first came out but stopped playing it after the b wing was added. Now I’m on pc all these years later is it still alive? Have any new ships Been added? Are servers easy to find?

looking at some recent developments in reverse engineering and modding, it seems we're very close to being able to decouple the EA login requirement from the game and mod it. anyone try it yet for Squadrons? custom maps, campaigns, and private multiplayer servers would be amazing

The controls take some getting used to! Keyboard only seems to be the ticket. Otherwise a dedicated gaming controller for PC such as an XBox controller with a pc attachment

** RESOLVED: This bugged me so much I actually ended up creating my own mod that fixes it. **

Supply droid never locks or lets me help a targeted ally. Doesn't matter how hurt they are (Last attempt I was trying to heal an ally who had 1 hull with zero shield).

I can have my ally selected, see they're damaged, and any attempt to hit it gets a red icon + buzz. The only time it fires is if I accidentally hit it too fast and dumbfire it.

Shielding (set to my other aux) works just fine. Get the green reticule, it flies off, does its thing.

I can't find any notes saying the droid no longer works this way, so what gives?

Obviously a primarily VR title, but how does Squadrons work with VR controllers?

I've seen a Steam Frame reviewer try it and get a critical error related to the controllers.

I've played the game flatscreen with both mouse and keyboard and a regular controller, but I'm thinking of getting the Steam Frame and curious whether there's any indication how well it would work (with any type of input, I just want to know what works).

Would be great if anyone knows anything.
