Sharing po:
Bill was 12-13k before solar (averaging 800kwh/month or 25kwh/day).
10kw system: 11kw inverter, 16pcs 630@ panels (10.08kwp total), 1pc 51.2V 600ah battery
From 12-13k monthly, down to 1200 pesos na lang after installation, medyo maraming rainy/cloudy days last month. I am expecting a lower bill sa next cutoff.
After installation, tumaas din ang consumption namin to 35-40kwh per day. 3 to 4 ACs during the day and 1 to 2 ACs sa night time. Kaya naman na ng setup ko yung consumption ko.
I spent less than 360-380k for the setup, all DIY. Nag-hire lang ako ng labor para iakyat ang panels sa roof, at ng electrician to connect yung live wire sa system that I prepared (takot kasi ako sa live na kuryente :)
I imported the equipment from China. Yung mga breakers, wires, etc. locally ko lang binili

* The system was installed on June 12th. The battery was later added on July 20th

Bill just came and i’m very satisfied with the resulting savings due to my hybrid PV setup!
1st bill - May (summer using 2 ACs during nighttime only)
2nd bill - September (3 days on solar, super tipid mag AC)
3rd bill - October (100% solar, unli AC)
4th pic - October stats as of posting (28 days only)
The highlight for me is guilt free na yung pag-on ng AC anytime of the day 🎉🥳
During the first few days, i always tried to make sure that our battery should last until sunrise so we would not pull from the grid. But later on, narealize ko na it’s the upgrade in comfort that’s the biggest upgrade in our daily life (no need magtipid ng AC just to hit zero grid import)
Basing on PV Yield in the app, we already saved 6,448 Php during October (416kWh x 15.5 per kWh meralco rate)
Appliances:
- two 0.75hp kolin inverter ACs are used for 2 bedrooms (1 runs almost 24/7, the other runs only during nighttime)
- i added a 1.5hp condura split type AC in the living room after solar installation (used when hosting visitors and when we’re all in the living room)
Solar setup:
- 6 x 720WJA panels (4.32kwp sakto lang sa roof ng garage kaya 6pcs lang)
- 16kwh Dyness Battery
- 6kw Solis inverter

We’re planning to install a grid-tied solar system with a hybrid-ready inverter, but our installer has been discouraging us from getting a battery right away. We’re leaning toward starting without one, but we’d appreciate insights from those who already have solar installed.
Here are our reasons for not getting a battery for now:
We rarely experience brownouts in our area. Since power interruptions aren’t a major concern for us, we’re not sure if having backup power would justify the additional cost.
Batteries are depreciating assets. They have a limited lifespan and will eventually need replacement. We’d rather invest in panels first and maximize our savings on our Meralco bill.
Our plan is to install a hybrid-ready inverter so we can add a battery in the future if our needs change. For now, our priority is reducing our electricity bill and getting the best return on investment.
For context, our monthly Meralco bill is around ₱5,000–₱8,000, and our main concern is maximizing bill savings rather than having backup power during brownouts.
For those with experience with grid-tied or hybrid solar systems:
- Do you think it makes sense to start without a battery and add one later if needed?
- Have you regretted not installing a battery from the beginning, or are you glad you skipped it?
- For those with batteries, do the additional savings and backup power justify the cost, considering battery degradation and eventual replacement?
- Is there anything we should consider now to ensure that adding a battery in the future will be practical and cost-effective?
Would love to hear your actual experiences. Thank you!

Hi requesting for you help in reviewing the following quotations I received for a hybrid setup. Average consumption is 966kw (~13 to 18k monthly Meralco bill). Contractors A and E have not yet completed their site visit yet so their quotations are solely based on our bill and location. Contractors A, B and C are very responsive so I’m leaning towards one of them. I only included D and E for comparison since they seem to be one of the bigger installers based on what I’ve seen online. But I’m not satisfied with the sales rep’s responsiveness, so I’m worried about how this would reflect on their after sales.
What considerations should we include in our decision? What else should we ask them aside from after sales and the installer’s qualifications? If you were to decide, which option would you choose?
List of major appliances:
1 1hp inverter AC 24/7 use
1 1.5hp inverter AC used from 10pm to 8am
1 inverter ref
1 PC used ~ 4 to 8 hrs per day
1 TV used from 7am to 10pm

I live in a rental house and am planning to install a 620W solar panel. Since I’m only renting, I don’t want to drill holes or use bolts to secure it to the roof.
What would you recommend for mounting the panel securely without drilling holes? I’d appreciate any suggestions for a safe, removable setup.

Hey guys. I’m new to solar. Sorry if this is a noob question, but I hope someone can enlighten me. Is there something wrong with the setup when it’s like this?
Also with our current load, should i expect na pag full na ang battery we wont be getting power from the grid na?

Contemplating in buying the 3 main components for Solar which is Panels, Inverter and Battery then I'd hire a registered Electrical Engineer and his people to assemble it or Just do contract with a solar installer?
Option 1: would be me buying (as per my research) either the most reputable combo inverter/battery brands such as Sungrow, Deye, GoodWe then pair it with Jinko, Aiko or JA Solar Panels. The cost of these, as per my excel, will be around P220,000.00 and I'd have a leeway for 100,00.00 for the installation and miscellaneous. Total Cost would be P320,00.00. The specs would be 12 Panels, 8KW Inverter and a 314AH 16kwh battery.
OR
Option 2: Just have a solar installer do it all but is more pricey. I'm from tarlac and got quoted by 5 solar installer already and their average total contract price is around P380,000.00.
Thoughts on these po?
