Meta Sub Adjustment

Starting Monday July 15th job announcements and hiring posts will no longer be allowed in this sub.

After monitoring and watching the users in this sun range from experts in the field with many decades of experience to those starting out and users from across the globe.

Non Social Media Managers post jobs often choose the lowest rate which leads to a "race to the bottom" and not only a devaluing of what we do, but inevitably when the cheaper options fails, leaves a bad taste that the next Social Media professional needs to over come.

Posts about fair compensation, job duties and things of that nature will still be allowed.

Those caught posts job announcements or soliciting will be given a warning at first then banned.

This is in an effort to make this sub a place for professionals to trade, ideas, tips and experiences.

If there are any questions message the mod team.

Help/Advice I need advice as a newbie on SMM that focuses on Virtual banking.

• Upvotes

Hi, SMM team!

I'm actually a newbie SMM, which means I don't really have any ideas nor knowledge on deeper terms in management. My client right now reached out for me, which I did not expected since I still haven't updated my portfolio. So, I passed on the interview despite my limited knowledge on the role, thus i'm asking for advice here in becoming an expert SMM. With that, i'm on the next step which is the trial task so i'm here asking for advice since I really struggle to understand and don't know what to do first or where to place these information (will it be on Word? or Google Sheets? IDKKK)

The job focuses on Finance, which I absolutely have no any prior knowledge with especially to its terms (i'm not a Business major in my college). But, I really want to produce a quality assured and accurate trial task so I can successfully be hired and lived up to my client's expectations. Then again, I really need advice or tips here with SM managers. I was tasked to do research on MSB which I absolutely have no any idea of, and how or where to write them down. I'm also tasked to do a one-page informational overview suitable for a brochure, website landing page or sales deck, which will stand as client-facing marketing copy.

If you have any ideas or experiences that suits to my situation right now and fits to my struggles, please feel free to write them down. I'm really on the verge of quitting and stopping this task, but at the same time I want to earn this job as an experience.

Thank youuuu!!!

Meta Need Urgent Help regarding Social Media

Hello Everyone. Hope you are doing well

I have started managing a company's Social Media as a Digital Marketer. We have lost access to our Facebook page due to some confusion and we are unable to regain the access as it was before

Second, Our Facebook Blue Tick verification has gone, got disappeared without any such notification and good part is that our page has no restrictions at all that could lead to the losing of blue tick

Third in the last 2 days we have lost around 4K followers which is so shocking for me to see. Is this from Facebook, or any glitch or what? I have heard others are facing such issues as well. Has any of you? Please let me know

Lastly, TikTok has started treating our TikTok account as personal not business one. I have tried numerous times uploading the certification as per the country's (Pakistan) acceptable documents but still it gets rejected every single time. I really don't know what is happening

If any expert or senior reading my post please comment or connect with me. I really need your help in this, in resetting all of this mess. I have never been into business page login issues before and this is my first time. I have tried which I could from my side but all in vain

Company's owners are expecting so much from me but I am not able to deliver. Please if you are the one please connect or comment or if you know someone please refer them or share this post with them so we can figure out and bring back everything to normal

Your help would means a lot to me and will be lifesaving. I am really looking forward to

Tools Algorithm & Moderation Focused: Fixing the 'Black Box' algorithm: How Ternary Moral Logic uses a Dual-Lane Architecture (<2ms binary + <50ms Ternary Governance) to audit feed decisions.

⚡ What TML Actually Does to Social Media Platforms

1. It Kills Opaque "Shadowbanning" ("No Log = No Action")

Today, community managers and creators are left guessing why reach drops, posts get demoted, or accounts face silent restrictions [1, 2]. TML introduces a strict operational rule: No Log = No Action [3, 4]. A platform cannot suppress, boost, or flag a post without generating a cryptographically signed, timestamped decision record showing the exact ethical reasoning pathway behind the action [3-5].

2. It Replaces Instant Outrage Virality with "Mandatory Hesitation"

Current binary moderation systems can only output 1 (allow/amplify) or -1 (suppress/remove) [1, 3, 6]. TML introduces State 0 (The Sacred Pause) [3, 7, 8]. When an algorithm encounters ethically ambiguous, context-dependent, or high-stakes content, it triggers a temporary pause state (<50 ms governance check) to evaluate context or route to human review rather than instantly accelerating rage-bait into the feed [7, 9-11].

3. It Forces Public Cryptographic Accountability ("Moral Trace Logs")

Instead of periodic, platform-controlled "Transparency Reports" that hide real algorithmic mechanics [2, 12], TML hashes decision pathways into Merkle trees and anchors them to public blockchains [9, 11, 12]. Platforms can no longer quietly alter moderation rules retroactively or hide why a brand's campaign was flagged [13, 14].

4. It Preserves Feed Speed via Dual-Lane Coexistence

TML doesn't tear down binary code or slow feeds to a crawl [11, 15]. It runs a Dual-Lane Architecture:

  • Inference Lane (< 2 ms): Standard binary execution processes raw data and feed delivery at ultra-fast speeds [11].
  • Governance Lane (< 50 ms): Triadic logic (+1, 0, -1) audits high-stakes decisions and issues Provisional Permission Tokens (PPTs) before actions execute [11].

🛠️ What This Means for Social Media Professionals

  • For Brand Safety: Enforces algorithmic hesitation on borderline viral content before it spirals into a brand crisis [9, 10].
  • For Account Management: Replaces generic appeal forms with auditable decision logs showing why a post was demoted [7, 12].
  • The Catch: Inserting a <50ms governance check adds ~50% latency overhead to feed ranking, and mandatory pauses directly challenge ad-funded engagement models that rely on rapid viral loops [16-18].

💬 Discussion Questions for SMMs & Platform Strategists:

  1. Would verifiable decision logs solve the nightmare of opaque platform moderation for brands, or is the added latency (+50ms) a dealbreaker for user experience?
  2. Could mandatory "algorithmic hesitation" on viral content help prevent brand safety disasters, or would it complicate live event coverage?
  3. Can major platforms ever adopt this level of transparency voluntarily, or will it require regulatory mandates (like the EU DSA)?

Help/Advice 75% of people on social media don’t speak English, so why are creators still only posting in English?

Hey guys! As a social media manager I came across this metric that most of people on Instagram/ Facebook or TikTok don’t actually speak English or they feed is not English at all based on location or preference. Also over 70% only would buy something if it is promoted in their mother language. Million dollar brands like ikea or JBL already have different accounts for every language to increase their viability across audiences globally but why no creator is taking advantage of this. I only found mrbeast having multiple TikTok accounts in Spanish and Portuguese and another lifestyle creator who have more followers and views on the German TikTok account than on her English account. In the past you had to hire a professional for doing the voice over but nowadays you can easily use elevenlabs for audio dubbing and caption.
So my question, as a social media manager, could this be an additional service for my clients or potential clients in the future that I can offer to growth their revenue and scale their income? Also the competition in English and marketing costs are much higher than in other languages. I feel like sometimes we can forget that English is not the main language for everyone.

Love to hear your feedback!

Help/Advice My boss will not use business accounts, is this bad?

i’m a new social media manger for a very small company and i’ve had previous experience as an intern but this is my first job with very little over sight

my boss will not switch their personal account to a business one just because she doesn’t want the “business account music” which is causing a lot of issues for me.

I cannot schedule any posts with sound on my computer so i have to use her business phone to go in and individually add music after i have scheduled all of the posts for the week. she also wants the posts from instagram to be cross posted to facebook but because that one is a business account i cannot link it and i have to separately schedule that in a different calendar, and then after that is posted share it to a different facebook account so she can keep the music to the business account.(there’s two facebook accounts)

i also cannot schedule any story content on instagram because that feature is not available so i have to use her business phone separately for multiple different tasks, as well as i cannot link anything directly from canva because you have to be a business account to do that too.

this is all on top of photographing, creating, strategizing, video editing etc. is there a way around this at all? or is this just something i’m gonna have to figure out?

i don’t feel like i have enough time in the day to be able to post once a day on multiple different platforms with all of these added tasks and also grow an account for them. i want to be able to do a good job but this is taking up way top much time just to be able to post.

not sure what to do, any advice?

Hey there, I am starting as a freelancer social media marketer, previously i was working for agencies, so I know all the marketing, content creation, copywriting and meta business etc. but I don't know how do you find clients. I got only one client but through local area search. i want to find clients abroad. So how do you pitch them? email? or call? and what you write in email pitching.

General Discussion Client boundaries

I’ve been working for my first ever organic social media client (she reached out on LinkedIn) for 6 months and boy am I learning the importance of boundaries. She started as an ideal client, pays on time and is generally very kind. But what started as small hiccups in the beginning on her end, have snowballed into it being my fault for why her social media isn’t doing well.

I’ll start first by saying I take accountability for my shortcomings. There was a two week period in August where I missed posts, and to make up for it I charged her half of the monthly rate for the next month as a credit. Also, in the beginning of this month, i didn’t post certain things because she didn’t approve them (we had just had a meeting where I checked in with her abt our work flow, if it’s working for her, if we should change it bc she almost never approves the content). She said it was working for her and so when she still didn’t approve it, I didn’t post them, to set a boundary like hey, I can’t post until you approve. She’s a lawyer so it’s extra important she approves before posting to ensure legal jargon is correct.

Here are the things that happened on her end that I initially didn’t think would be a “big deal”, but is now biting me in the a**:

- doesn’t provide content consistently. Doesn’t record or take photos that I ask.
- very unresponsive. It fluctuates and she’s a lawyer so I try to be flexible.
- doesn’t change, despite me changing our workflow several times to better accommodate her

I actually met her in person a month ago and she was gushing over how happy she was with her social media. She even wrote me a glowing testimonial. But not even a week later she did a 180. I know she’s under stress bc she’s pivoting her law firm to a different focus but now everything is my fault. She’s criticizing everything for not being done a certain way and giving me mixed messages. But mind you the issues we’re having is large in part to the fact that she isn’t keeping up with providing the content.

I have offered to come to her in person to do shoots so she doesn’t have to do it anymore. But I’m positive we won’t be moving forward come December (she said herself she has to see how November goes before making any final decisions).

She told me I’d receive all recorded content for November by Saturday 8pm. It’s Tuesday now and nothing. I’ve followed up several times and nothing (this is typical). It gets to a point where it’s like…is this even worth it?

I am learning now from others’ posts that a huge part of freelance SMM is client management. I guess it was silly of me to assume that someone who is paying for a service will make sure they’re getting the most out of it!

Help/Advice automated social media posts for five clients, now one asks what she pays me for

i was away last week, first time in two years, and the posts for all five of my clients went out anyway. captions i'd written in claude the week before, posting through postproxy on a schedule. i was proud of this.

the cafe owner noticed. she sent me a screenshot of her own feed with "you're on vacation though?" and then, nicely, "so what am i actually paying you for now".

i didn't answer from the beach. i'm the one who read the comments when her regulars hated the new menu and pulled the next post before it went out, and i'm the one who decided the thing she talks about this month is the old soup coming back. none of that got smaller while i was away. she just doesn't see it happen anymore.

she pays me $400 a month. five clients, roughly the same deal. a year ago the posting itself was maybe half of what i did for that money, and i sold the rest bundled with it, nobody ever asked what the other half was. now the visible half is gone and i don't know how to put a price on just the thinking.

anyone doing this for small local businesses, what did you tell your clients when the scheduling stopped being the job? did you change what you charge, what you call it, anything.

General Discussion Has anyone figured out a workaround for this?

I tried boosting a Instagram reel but got hit with a copyright warning for the music. I used the built-in "change to copyright-free" option during the boost setup. It swapped the track, but it completely muted my original voiceover. Now the ad reel is just playing the generic background track.

Help/Advice Has anyone found an AI tool or agent that actually creates good social media content?

I've been managing social media for our startup myself, and honestly, it's not my strong suit.

I've been using AI to help brainstorm ideas and create content, but I still end up spending a lot of time planning posts, creating visuals, and figuring out what to publish next.

I'm looking for something that can take over more of the actual content creation for Instagram and Facebook, including ideas, visuals, and ideally short videos.

Most tools I've come across seem to focus more on scheduling than creating.

Has anyone found something that genuinely saves time and produces content worth publishing? I'd love to hear what you've actually tried and how much manual work is still involved.

General Discussion What is the right amount to pay an inexperienced social media manager?

I started a property management/vacation rental business a little over a year ago and want to grow my social media presence but don’t have time to manage it.

Most of the properties I manage are by a university so my initial thought was to hire a college student so they can get some experience and I don’t have a very large budget.

How much should I expect to pay and where’s the best place to post? Do I pay monthly and how many posts per month is recommended? Main goaI is really just to have a decent presence and a few thousand followers. Awesome if I can actually generate leads (potential tenants/guests or landlords) but just having a solid presence so that when people look us up we look legit is the initial goal.

Help/Advice Social Listening tools

I have worked as an online reputation manager but apart from setting up a google alert + manual Linkedin watching I never used a social listening tool. This was done by an agency (way too many mistakes btw on the sentiment analysis) I only care for the listening features, how easy the setup is, the sentiment analysis and so on. Not social media tools in general

A few questions

Which one is the best
Which one is the easiest to use and learn
Which one could i suggest to a company
How hard are these tools in general to learn from scratch as an experienced, tech-savvy person.
Is there any learning resources? How can an individual get a grip if most of them require a company so that they can show you a demo?

Thanks in advance.
