I low-key hate it when people are like no spice no spice no spice. Order something different okay. I've been with people that have acted like food that is 100% not even a little bit spicy and they are like freaking out. It has to be an act, or a symptom of some kind of hypochondria.
How about you don't order jalapeno poppers. Because I got news for you dumbass there's no way to make them not spicy.

Some things are spicy by default and they are distinct to other menu items. For example if I want noodles in a Szechuan restaurant they would be spicy by default and most likely not have an alternative, then the best option would be to request less spice. Also many restaurants actually give you full control over seasonings and whatnot. Some people just can’t handle spice, and that’s okay- let these people enjoy good food. In the case of this video, he may be trying Chinese style food for the first time and is unsure of his spice tolerance. There are so many factors contributing to someone deciding to eat or not to eat spicy food and you just shutting these ideas off is crazy

"Order something else" or maybe they could politely ask the chef to keep the spice level down? You sound more like a child than anyone who doesn't want spicy food does.

they clearly think that working at a fast food chain gives them insider knowledge on the food industry as whole

People get super elitist about their spice tolerance of all things, it’s surprisingly common, and I don’t get it.
It’s not like anyone (generally) was born with a high spice tolerance lol

If you can’t make jalapeno poppers not spicy that is unironically a skill issue on your part lol

I got some news for you. As someone who appreciates spicy hot foods, I’ve stopped getting jalapeño poppers in restaurants because they’re always bland.

Very rarely does a restaurant actually serve truly spicy food. It's because people who want to order spicy things and then say but I don't want it to be spicy.
The worst part is some people consider things like garlic and onions spicy so food in general is just becoming bland
