Serpentine Medusa [Self] [Cosplay] Over 700 hrs handcrafting from scratch just so I could watch myself rise as a Medusa to full battle height

Even if this was the only footage I ever got of my Medusa build, every month spent handcrafting it would have been entirely worth it, just for the sense of magic I felt watching myself rise as a snake to full battle height. 🐍⚔️
Watching my full-scale snake tail lift smoothly into an elongated stance made every single hour of the grind to create a flexible costume tail completely worth it. Seeing this was the moment I felt that “I DID THAT” feeling. I'd love to hear about your own favorite “I did that” moment in the comments!
I handcrafted this original Medusa cosplay completely from scratch—I created each of the patterns used in this build and hand-fabricated every element you see to turn myself into my own take on Gorgon Medusa from Greek mythology. I custom cast the entire tail with platinum-cure silicone; hand-making each scale in EVA foam beforehand to attach to the silicone tail, while engineering a design layout that would still allow for silicone stretch beneath the scales.
Getting a heavy, full-scale tail to fluidly lengthen from a curve base up to an elongated vertical height is a glowing badge of achievement for me because it showcases the work I did to engineer and prove its flexibility and motion potential. Because my health restricts travel and I can't attend standard conventions, creating these high-fidelity videos—by gutting my kitchen to set up a studio and then putting my kitchen back together again afterward—of my hard work, is how I share my artisan passion with the world.
