I thought maybe they were eaten or destroyed perfectly all around the middle forming a circle but I honestly can’t tell if they were or just grow like that.

(Location in post) I need help identifying this mushroom growing at the base of my mature oak, Texas, USA

I found this unusual pale cream-to-peach-colored fungal growth at the base of my mature red oak in North Texas. It seemed to appear overnight.

Google Lens suggested young Chicken of the Woods (*Laetiporus*), but I don't know if that's correct. The tree is located in North Central Texas.

Can anyone help identify this fungus?

For today's adventure out on the trail I spotted this mushy. Located in Florida sugar sand, surrounded by pine detritus.

About a half hand across the top and 3 inches high. Not slimy.
