Sadly this is real. If you’re quiet during a big meeting people wonder what you’re contributing. Some people always speak up even though their observations are trivial.

I had a coworker who would constantly do a therapy-speak style “so let me repeat back what I’m hearing…” in meetings and it was so annoying.

And to expand on that point, they'll also get credit for doing nothing more than repeating what was said previously.
