After 640 hours of hunting all three shiny starters on my Switch and Switch 2 I finally got my shiny bulbasaur today. When trying to level it up a bit I found this shiny Abra on only the SECOND encounter... I guess what happened next is a surprise to absolutely nobody...

I genuinely do not understand how I went so over odds for this (I have now been corrected, I thought I'd read somewhere that gift pokemon were effected by shiny charm. Leaving it so no one is confused if they see the comment that corrected me). And I still have to play through the entirety of Ultra Sun to hunt a second one. (Sorry for the black spots, my screen is a little broken)

I've been hunting this since August 14th. During the hunt, the loz ocarina of time remake was announced and scheduled to release next week. And I want to play the day it comes out. So I pose the question, do I throw in the towel early, or do I go until the last day? If I keep going, I've only got 9 days left.

Managed to catch it in a regular Pokeball no less!!! This has been the second longest hunt I've ever done. I started this hunt in late September of last year. Only took a few breaks throughout. But, I've been hitting it fairly hard the past few months though. With the announcement of Pokebanks shutdown in February as my motivation. So glad to have this gorgeous shiny! THE BANK HAS OFFICIALLY BEEN BEATEN! SHINY TYPE: NULL #19, YOU ARE MINE!

Wow, what a journey. It's finally over. My first shiny Type: Null came all the way back in 2018; #2 came in 2023 and it's been three long years of grinding. Every Wormhole Legendary is done, every Vivillon pattern is done, and this ridiculous quest to get 19 Shiny Type: Null is done.

The final shiny Type: Null appears after 23363 encounters. It appeared only 1080 encounters and five days after Type: Null #18. I was ready to take this another 12000 encounters. I heard all of the horror stories of 30k, 40k, 50k, 60k hunts. I had to believe I wouldn't be one of them, and I was rewarded. This final Type: Null was the longest shiny hunt of my life, but it felt so fitting for it to be so.

EDIT: I totally forgot to mention (this is nuts), my total global Type: Null encounters for the 19 shiny Type: Null: 77743. ODDS for 19 1/4096 shinies: 77824. I FINISHED 81 ENCOUNTERS UNDER ODDS! WOW! MATH, AM I RIGHT?! 🫠

And the most common question I get:

WHY 19?!

It's for my Shiny Living Form Dex. 1 shiny Type: Null, 18 shiny Silvally for all of the different memory types. I will not be answering this question again in the comments 😂

Took a break, 2 month break, from this hunt and started it back. I can play this game again!

I finally caught a shiny mudkip! After over 800 resets and the RNG does not help! i finally encountered this guy.

After 5000+ soft resets and 10000 encounters, I've finally found my siny Dratini!

11.15 hours of hunting on 4 consoles, the console I got it on did crash... after I saved thankfully, the pink onion is now safe and sound in home.

So, I've recently finished hunts for two Type: Null and Poipole and I've finally entered the last phase of my Bank closing hunts with Partner Cap Pikachu, and it's seemingly the most anxiety inducing one for me. I know what I'm looking for, a little red star on its summary, but the way I'm viewing the summary screen is what I need some reassurance about. Instead of putting Pikachu in my party and viewing it there, I click the option listed above and then reset if no star, and I know shiny paranoia is real and that it's probably fine, but I just really need someone to tell me that I have this right and it will eventually lead to a shiny. (And yes, I've checked the IDs for the low chance of shinylock)
