Mass Effect might be dead (thanks, EA), but my attempts at squeezing the most out of the game's character creator are not!

Once again inspired by the likes of u/Pretend-Motor9751 and u/Independent-Bird-808, I tried my hand at re-creating former Dutch Manchester United football/soccer coach (and Cristiano Ronaldo disser), Erik ten Hag, with some help from Claude.

I think he turned out pretty badass if I do say so myself, tailor-made for a Renegade playthrough, and the facial scar works well with his overall, rugged and sort of weathered look.

Not a perfect likeness of course, but "looks like him at a glance" was what I was going for!

Commander Doug Shepard rose rapidly through the ranks due to his parents’ connections in the Alliance, not because of any particular merit of his own. How else do you explain how a barely-competent engineer became the XO on the most advanced ship in the fleet? Was it because he was the sole survivor of the massacre on Akuze? Maybe, though people who know Doug well think there might be some truth to the rumor that he survived because he ran in the opposite direction as soon as the thresher maws appeared.

Now that he’s unexpectedly been granted Spectre status and command of his own ship, will Doug suddenly become a bold and decisive leader? No. Will he give up seeking his own advancement and pleasure over the needs of others? Also no. Is his unique combination of incompetence, indifference, and cowardice going to get every single one of his squadmates killed?

We will see….

I cannot, for the life of me, choose which hairstyle to commit to. 😭

But she's a cutie and I'm proud of my creation.

Started a modded playthrough a few weeks ago, (latest of a few hundred full trilogy playthroughs), and been playing through the trilogy while streaming it to a discord call for a few friends. We started ME3 last night, (started shortly after the announcement and are only a few hours into the game so far.) We're planning on finishing the game off on the 7th for N7 day.

Also first time playing through as Sentinel since the original release, and first time doing a full trilogy playthrough as Sentinel.

Meant to post this ages ago but I wasn’t as familiar with Reddit then so here it is, my first Shepard when I ran through the trilogy for the first time back in 2023 and into 2024 (Played on PS5, No Mods of course). As usual with me2 imports if you want to use her in 2 make sure you adjust the color of the eyebrows which is something that I didn’t know about and drove me crazy in my first run was how light her eyebrows were compared to the rest of her so keep that in mind. The code is shown in the screenshots but just so it’s here in the actual post:

Just a good guy, a true paragon.

He was haunted by grief and trauma, a humble earthling who soon learned the horrors of space war on Akuze. Initially taking on his new role as a Spectre with earnestness and was always driven to succeed, the mission was often almost too much for him, and he frequently second guessed himself. Losing Wrex and Kaidan left him terrified to make the wrong choice, and he ruminated endlessly about how he could have done things differently. Choosing Ashley left a sour taste in his mouth after Virmire, and he wondered if he chose to let Kaidan die out of short-lived lust. Even when trying his absolute best to save, uplift, and just help out his new beloved squadmates, he failed to save his crew from the collectors and lost Grunt on the suicide mission against the collectors. Once the reapers arrived, he was determined to never make the wrong choice again. He gave Liara a chance after denying her before, saved the Geth and Quarians, cured the genophage, and when the battle reached its conclusion, he was not going to let chance have its way again, and chose to control the reapers as a benevolent guardian of the galaxy.

He was a skilled marksman who always kept the battle at a distance, never allowing the enemy to get the upper hand. Incinerating and sniping the enemy was always preferable to anything close and personal.

(As a side note I was really high when I started ME1 for the first time and didn’t know there wasn’t a height/weight element to character creation, so my usual effort to make a weird looking character failed after I named him and made his face. Then his face ended up not looking all that crazy)
