Wyrm Talks (Lore) Totem

If you could choose a totem if you are a Shaman what would you choose

Edit Auto correct got me again when it changed Komodo Dragon to Koodo Dragon so I apologize for not catching that

None of these.

...

Looking at a more complete list than yours? In no particular order:

  • Fire-Bringer might suit me.

  • Raven (the alt version that collects information and useful gear) would fit reasonably well.

  • I could also see Arcana as a possibility.

I really like the FIre-Bringer one. I think that'd be a lot of fun to play, especially in a situation with a lot of opportunities to do downtime / outside of mission activity alongside the main session activity.

Raven and Arcana are also both fun. Especially for a "I equip the team with cool niche stuff/spells sort of sense."

Crows are bros, but I do appreciate the 2 ostrich homies out here representing.

I'm nocturnal, always tired, and look like I've kissed a shovel at high speed, yep, Bat is the one I most resonate with.

What powers do you think The Bat Totem would give you?

I don't recognize most of these Mentor Spirits. What do each of them do, exactly?

Out of the ones here, gut feeling tells me to pick Coguar. I like kitty cats.

Just wanted to make a poll for totems wanted to mix it up with what thought are the usual and the unsual as for what they do, The Komodo Dragon gives its followers immunity to poison and if the rules allow it the ability to regenerate their own limbs

Idk if there is one, but there should be a Totem of Opossum. That would be mine.

You could home brew one i think

Would your Shaman be actually able to play Possum?

Where did you pull this list of totems / mentor spirits from?

And do you mean if I were a shaman now in 2026?

Or for a shadowrunner magician following a shamanistic / animalistic tradition

Most of these are not totems.

That being said, always Dog, Rat, Bear, or Coyote for me.

Really? Cause I was surprised reading tge synopsis of The Kilmanjaro Run has a Shaman who follows the path kf The Hippotamus and that partially inspired this poll.

I feel like a Platypus totem would make you a generalist jack of all trades. Just like the biological abomination, you have a little bit of everything.

Mantis Shrimp.

Crow, simply because they are common. Some seem exceptionally limited in geography like Komodo Dragon or Platypus... super cool, and if the campaign was in those areas, a great choice, but if not, might be hindered. Ostrich in Seattle... might be out of place, whereas Crow or Bat can be almost anywhere.

Raccoon. Sneaky, manipulative, dexterous, curious, troublesome
