Fan Art More fan colossi

More drawings for what I think would be cool colossi if we ever had an expansion. Gotta say that it does feel less inspired than my previous post but I'm still trying other iterations. I do feel that the little guy on the last page the right of the page is interesting as a tiki colossus that you would have to hit weak spots to make his sections spin

These a re so creative! I feel like you have experience drawing mechanical montsers/robots or something of the sort? Your drawings made me clearly imagine their movement style based on how they're structured. So so cool and skilled :DD

Thank you man, it's really good to hear the feeling of weight and movement comes through, after a while I can't even tell if they're good anymore lol.

I normally do dark fantasy bodyhorror and mechanical apparatuses. I try to really think about 3D form and function of things. I take a lot of influence from concept artist sketches and studies of functional design thinking, movements and weight in a 3D space it's a big part of it, that's why I also like animation so much (to watch, I don't do much animation). But yeah, I draw a shit ton of boxes.

I'm a really big fan of keith thompson old ass website were he posts his art and lore, Feng Zhu is a great master to me because of his tutorials, and Kim Jung Gi really makes go monkey with creative thinking.

You can follow my Instagram for my other work if you'd like, it's quite unrelated to shadow of the colossus though... for now... https://www.instagram.com/egg_pionono?dlrf=ZGg4NDlzY3Y1ejVi

Followed 👍 you're a really great artist, reminiscent of Robbie Trevino. I fucking love art

I can see the connection with your usual artstyle. That connection between mechanisms/body horror is a great creative avenue

Love the tiny wander in image 4 hitting this

Hahahahah! I do think it will be a colossus that moves quite fast and creepy that'll make you go like that

that's awesome, i'd love to know what would be the mechanic of each one

All of these have a bunch of room to make some more concrete mechanics but I always try to have a general idea for each one, I need to have some more that interact with their arena. Suggestions are welcomed

Prepare for info dump:

1 The mule would be an unnagresive one that you have to figure how to get inside the box, after that it's probably done for.

2 The cameleon will be climing pillars or trees and you'll have to position yourself over a higher platform and jump just at the right moment on him when he's moving to another pillar. This one will shake a lot too.

3 Sumo is like a smaller version of the last colossus, you'll have to figure how to navigate his inside platforms and find the weak spots

4 Ant-worm you have to kite inside small holes in the wall where he'll stuck giving you some time to climb on the targets, alternatively he'll be breaking his rock rings trying to pass reaveling a target.

5 Shrimp face I have already posted but he's cool so he's here again, one of the weakspot you have to access by going from one arm to the other running on his bridge hands while he shakes.

The sketches have some rougher versions of some and some cool underdeveloped ones. The sphere guy you'll have to topple. The block colossus hides on an enviroment of similar looking block pillars. Dinosaur you'll have to get it's maw stuck somewhere and the target it's his tongue. Tiki colossus is my favorite, you hit weak spots to make the sections spin until you get the right path. Frog colossus has been difficult and can't really figure a way to make him have a cool mechanic other than jumping somewhere.

Thank you for listening to this rambling.

Imagine two smaller and faster colossi that you fight at the same time, sort of like Cenobia and Celosia at once.

To reveal their weak spots you have to make them both chase you and then crash into each other.

This is a good idea. I believe they were originally planning on making an encounter with two colossus but the ps2 couldn't handled that, this is a big can of worms. There's a lot of puzzles to be had with two colossus

So fire. The first batch was incredible as well. I believe you’ve inspired me to make some of my own

Man, I feel you. This is why I started doing them. It's very sad that there isn't any official expansions. I can only play this game in my own head 🚬
