Other What’s with all the new accounts posting the same stuff about Cottage Health?

I flagged some sus accounts to the mods (2 months ago) after noticing a promotional pattern. They suggested I post here so everyone could take a look themselves.

All of these users started posting at the same time about Cottage Health on this sub, and have no other published topics. They all either opened or began operating at the same time, posting only to attack Cottage Health Hospital in r/SantaBarbara, and repeat the same talking points over and over again. I just feel like it is ruining the sub.

My cat Legbone is missing since Friday. Pedregosa and Castillo. He is very active in Mission Creek and is very weary of people and cars. He is indoor outdoor but usually sleeps inside at night. Fixed but still can be a bully. I know a coyote was spotted recently in the area.

Other California Current jackasses?

I received two emails from [californiacurrent@substack.com](mailto:californiacurrent@substack.com) "welcoming" me to their substack which I definitely didn't subscribe to (twice within the same minute, mind you). The listed address in the email is:

836 Anacapa Street, Suite 895, Santa Barbara CA 93102

I use email aliases, so the email came to "<myemail>+dmv@gmail.com" meaning they harvested it from the DMV site somehow. How's that possible? It also violates substack's publisher policies, so I'll be forwarding to them as well.

super annoying

Local Politics Scummy petitioners outside of Whole Foods

Currently a petitioner outside of Whole Foods asking for signatures to be able to vote against rent control. While I don’t have an issue with someone trying to get this on the ballot, his methods are very scummy. He’s saying “hey we’re collecting signatures on rent stabilization”. He gives zero context and just hands the paper over to sign. I asked him “hey what is this about?” And he handed me the paper and said “rent stabilization”. I told him “oh so you are going to hand me this with just those words when in reality you are looking to revoke rent stabilization correct?” He then apologized and tried to claim that he just has brain fog, but then proceeded to do the same exact thing with a pregnant lady not 10 seconds after while I was talking to him. She willingly signed, but then I explained to her what it was she was signing, and proceeded to ask the guy to scratch her signature the fuck off. So let’s get this straight, pregnant lady who is struggling with bills already, and wants lower rent, is completely duped into signing something against her own interest. Not cool man!

Recommendations Staycation near SB

Hi looking for ideas/recommendations for places within driving distance of SB for a long weekend trip that doesn’t break the bank.

Have a few days off for Thanksgiving and looking to get out of the house and explore without spending a crapton of money, but new to the area and not sure where to go/what to do.

Recommendations Therapist warning

Kymberlee ruff mft has filed multiple false police reports, scammed clients for years while playing victim, violated confidentiality without remorse, and manipulated people into harming innocent peoples livelihoods. Avoid therapists who are crazier and more psychopathic than u could ever try to be. Please be careful w who u trust w ur mental health. She is a very sick person who is very good at acting otherwise.

Other SBCC ADN NURSING

Hi everyone. I just want a bit explanation on sbcc adn i been recently accepted and want to figure out my work schedule with school. I’m going part time but looking at the class schedule is confusing for me
So far i understand its 2 days a week in person and 1-2 days of clinicals a week
Where i wanted to get calcification is. Do we have a short day lecture Where i may be able to go to work after class on the short day? Also. Where does lab take place. Is lab during your lecture days or is that another day added to your week on top of your lecture and clinicals.

Also how and when do you get your clinical schedule and how far in advance do they give you. So i can schedule work

Most of the other bikes would probably fail the State's new e-bike regulations. Officer said to say that, "We are here on State." The biker's buddies could not resist fooling around while the tow truck arrived. Expect more of the same police action in the future...

Events Halloween Pub Crawl

Solo Traveller here. I’m in the United States for the first time and will be in Santa Barbara around Halloween - I’m looking for activities to party and meet other people.
So I stumbled across the Pub Crawls but cannot decide if it is a fit for me.
One is called “Zombie Crawl” by EOS, the other one just “Halloween Bar Crawl”.
Has anyone experience with the organizers or has even participated once?
Also, maybe someone would be open to join in, or maybe you are going as well.
Feel free to share your input :)

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a hair stylist who specializes in highlights/bold colors (red or pink).

Looking to do something different with my hair but my current stylist mainly focuses on low-maintenance so I was hoping to get some good suggestions. Thanks!

Local Politics Progressive cheat sheet for upcoming vote.

Looking for a Progressive cheat sheet for the upcoming vote on all the bills, measures and politicians. I’m not left-wing. I’m not right wing. I am for whatever is good for the people and the planet. I try to avoid any politicians who say one thing and do another like take money from a AIPAC and vote for wars or genocide support. Let’s discuss.

Nature Heard a deep, guttural growl on the Obern trail

I was walking on Obern Trail and while approaching the bridge that connects to Patterson/Shoreline, I heard a deep, guttural growl coming from nearby. I couldn't see what was making the sound and while I stood there frozen, I heard it again and this time it was longer and deeper., It was unsettling enough that I rushed to the bridge and get on to Patterson Ave.

I'm wondering whether it could have been a mountain lion, bobcat, or something else. Also wanted to give others a heads-up.
