SAP Cloud Strategy

Hello everyone,
even though the SAP cloud strategy is already in full swing, I still have one question.
Do all customers really have to migrate all their systems to the private or public cloud, or is it enough for each SAP customer to host just one system in one of these clouds, while the rest of the systems can remain on-premises?
Even after doing some research online, I’m still not quite sure, so I’m hoping there’s someone here who knows more about this.

From what I understand they want you to move everything eventually, but the reality is lot of companies keep their core stuff on-prem and just put one system in the cloud to satisfy the contract.

How many companies do you actually have insight into that are like that?

Genuinely curious, for me that number is two.

Companies can move their SAP systems to the cloud in stages. A hybrid setup lets some systems run in a public or private cloud while others remain on-premises.

Moving one system to the cloud can be a starting point, and it covers that system alone. The right pace depends on business requirements, integration, security needs, and the SAP products involved. Cloud and on-premises systems also need to work together smoothly.

You should move everything.
In order to use AI onprem you have to terminate a significant amount of your maintenance base.

In the future they will make remaining onprem less and less attractive- or the cloud more attractive. Matter of perspective

If there is one thing CIOs should understand about SAP Cloud strategy, then it is that moving totally to SAP Cloud is a one way road and no coming back to on-prem or any other solution. SAP Cloud gets exorbiantly expensive to run YoY vs alternatives. For comp. work out S/4, clean core + SAP AI costs for 5 years vs S/4 enhanced with custom AI

I heard that sidecar TM and EWM will still be a thing since they are too complex

SAP is committing suicide slowly.
