Training help

Struggling with my running progress latelystuck with a low VO2 max and inconsistent heart rate despite 6 months of Zone 2 training, so I’m trying intervals now to see if that helps me get faster. Any tips on how to structure my 4 runs a week to actually see some improvement?

My zone 4 hr is like 7:30 pace and zone 2 is 9min and zone 3 os around 8:30 I use the huewei gt6

What bugs me is that my zone 2 is at 9min plus pace and im 5ft9 and 83kg

Just run and ignore your zones. You're still relatively new, so your body is adjusting to running.

Zone 2 is largely used by runners who are putting in serious mileage. It allows them to run more miles with less stress on the body.

What are you even running at the moment with your 4 runs? Hard to give advice without knowing what you're doing

Take your watch off and run, listen to your body. All this zone crap consumes way too much of your mind. Just run, speed it up for a few hundred metres, slow it back down, interval training, fast runs, slow runs. Stop worrying about stats and just get back to the basics and enjoy running again
