I've partially reverse-engineered Oblivion Remastered with Claude to fix its performance (+40% FPS in my benchmark scenario)

I keep reading that anthropic has blocked reverse engineering work especially REA

I got started and made lots of progress even without any reverse engineering tool. Did install Ghidra and its MCP later to help out though.

Which MCP did you use? There's quite a few available these days

I'm a software developer, but I'm sort of out of the loop on AI. I know Claude is the best Model currently, but they are seemingly adding guard rails for this type of work. What would be the next best model in terms of Software development and reverse engineering at the moment? And roughly how much would it cost for a project like this to have an agent assist?

Thanks.

Ha, fucking cowards, they knew this shit was gonna happen eventually and didn't do a damn thing about it.

Not on opus 4.7 and less

Even 4.8 is much less of a stickler for the rules

Had 5.5 complain and say it couldn't do something, switched to 4.8 and it claimed changing models wouldn't help

Tried a new 4.8 chat with memory off and it worked just fine

This will do wonders on handhelds.
