Dessert🍧 I had no marshmallows for spiderweb brownies, so I panicked and made pumpkin cheesecake brownies instead 🎃
The plan was simple: Halloween brownies with a stretchy marshmallow spiderweb on top. Then I opened the cupboard. Zero marshmallows.
So I improvised. I swirled a spiced pumpkin cheesecake layer over the brownie batter, threw in a handful of roasted cashews because they were staring at me from the shelf, and ran out of dark chocolate halfway through, so the base ended up half chocolate, half cocoa. Honestly? Best accident of the season. Fudgy, tangy, a little crunchy, and they taste like fall.
The hardest part was not the baking. It was waiting for them to chill before cutting. Cheesecake brownies cut warm are a crime scene, so everyone in my house had to stare at the fridge for two hours. 😅
Happy to share the recipe if anyone wants it, just ask in the comments!

What's For Dinner? 🍽️ does anyone else just wing it based on what's about to go bad in the fridge
like i'll open my fridge fully planning to make pasta and then i see some random vegetables getting sad so suddenly i'm making a stir fry instead. is this cooking or is this just preventing food waste with extra steps

What's For Dinner? 🍽️ does anyone else's cooking style just depend on what's in the fridge that day
like i swear i can't follow a recipe to save my life because i'm always like "oh i don't have that but i have this" and somehow it either slaps or is completely inedible. no in between. genuinely curious if this is just me being chaotic or if everyone kind of cooks like this

Discussion 🗣️ why is it so hard to follow a recipe exactly and why do i always end up improvising halfway through
like i'll start off so committed to measuring everything and then by the time i'm halfway through i'm just eyeballing stuff and adding random seasonings because something feels off. does everyone do this or am i just chaotic in the kitchen

Discussion 🗣️ why does everything taste better when someone else makes it
like i can follow the exact same recipe and mine comes out fine but the second my mom or a friend cooks the same thing it's suddenly gourmet. is this just a psychological thing or am i genuinely a worse cook than i think i am

Discussion 🗣️ why do recipes never mention how to actually plate things without making it look like a crime scene
like i'll follow a recipe perfectly and then the moment comes to put it on a dish and suddenly i'm just... sliding stuff around with a fork hoping it doesn't look completely tragic. do you guys have any tips or is this just part of the cooking experience that nobody talks about

Sandwiches 🥪 do you guys actually use those fancy knife skills or is it just for show
genuinely asking because i watched like three youtube videos on proper chopping technique and now i'm paranoid i'm doing it wrong. does it actually make a difference in how stuff cooks or am i overthinking this while my onions are still edible either way

Product Reviews 📋 What’s the best dish drying rack?
Had a pretty stone one made from diametaceous earth that was impossible not to get moldy in our moist,
PNW environment. Need a sturdy and well made dish rack to sit on quartz countertop. Want it to last and not rust, and look good in our earth-toned kitchen. Willing to spend $50-100 if worth it.

Discussion 🗣️ what tiny finishing touch makes roasted vegetables feel special?
a spoonful of lemony yogurt, toasted nuts, a little chili crisp... what do you add after roasting to make a simple tray of vegetables feel lovely?
especially curious about combinations for carrots or cauliflower, and whether you add the sauce to the tray or let everyone dress their own plate.
