Not necessarily a band I play a lot but I do try to get them in during October.

Listening right now on the morning commute and I like it. It’s good to hear them come back with such a pleasant listen. It sounds very happy and melodic with the usual nasal high vocals but there’s quite a bit of bite to the guitars as well. The track Glory And Gold is a huge fave of mine so far but there are no bad tracks imo. Have you heard it yet and what do you think?

Actualmente interpreta a Galileo en el musical "We Will Rock You" en Madrid.
Dark Moor unveils its new lineup, marking a pivotal shift for the band’s next chapter: Alberto Scarlatta and soprano Mariana Otero will share lead vocal duties. With two voices at the helm, the band begins a fresh chapter in its history. Alberto Scarlatta joins the group, bringing a versatile voice and extensive stage experience from the world of musical theater—he is currently starring as Galileo in the Madrid production of the musical "We Will Rock You." Soprano Mariana Otero, who has already performed alongside Dark Moor in recent shows, now joins the band as one of its two primary vocalists. Her operatic range and expressiveness will blend with Scarlatta’s voice, creating a vocal dynamic that opens up new sonic possibilities for the band. The lineup is further strengthened by the addition of Nacho Arriaga on drums. Rounding out the group are Enrik García on guitar, Dani Fernández on bass, and Óscar Calvo on violin. ✨Dark Moor is currently hard at work composing their next album, with recording scheduled for 2027. The band plans to release an initial preview after the summer of that same year. ✨We hope you will all welcome Alberto and Mariana to Dark Moor with open arms! 🖤

Superb power metal track in the 'Helloween Keepers-tradition' from the German band Chroming Rose, released in 1990.

Palace - 2020 - Reject The System - Legion Of Resistance
We bring your hatred against us on the street
Time has come to destroy the Babylonian regime
We are ready for anything to end the tyranny
Born to free from your claws
We're the final ones
Legion of resistance - chaos will reign
Resistance - revolution goes on
Resistance - we're fighting to the last
We get back our rights
No one will break this frontline, riots rule
We are bringers of anarchy, your system in turmoil
Your end is our triumph, justice will prevail
Born to free from your claws
We're the final ones
Legion of resistance - chaos will reign
Resistance - revolution goes on
Resistance - we're fighting to the last
We get back our rights
These streets are on fire
It's all out of control
Legions marching ready to fire
Systems crash and fall
Resistance
Resistance
Resistance
Resistance

Just wanted to say that was an epic show bib put on! I know they can get criticism for not having live keyboards but that was genuinely one of the best rock/ metal shows I’ve seen in a long time!

Finally got around to picking up the album they released prior to this one. This one is definitely better.

Hello again. One of my hobbies is blogging about my explorations of the history of power metal, so I'm using a primer from Metalstorm [https://metalstorm.net/pub/article.php?article_id=2243 ] as a jumping-off point to sample a smattering of songs from some special records. [ https://isverbose.blogspot.com/search/label/MetalStorm.com%20power%20metal%20list ]
We previously did the section about the '80s, with me soliciting Reddit for thoughts, starting with this thread:
with fairly limited participation. Now it's time for a runthrough of ten power metal and PM-adjacent records from the '90s, and it includes some really foundational stuff; some big favorites around here to this day.
I'm curious in input from the sub about which of the ten records highlighted in the '90s article merits a deeper dive and why. This isn't so much about which records are most influential, etc, so much as highlighting the most interesting twists of this subgenre. Does one of the records uniquely speak to you? Is one of them imperfect in a way that fascinates?
As always, I'll write regardless of whether on not anyone's reading, but more engagement makes the whole thing better. So, please chime in if so inclined. You can view it as a "vote to choose what some person writes about!" thing, or you can treat it as more of a prompt to talk about your own experiences with anything on the list. I know which one I'm picking, but what's your pick for which of these most needs to be listened to intensively and written about in great detail?
) X Japan - Art Of Life
) Angra - Angels Cry
) Blind Guardian - Imaginations From The Other Side
) Iced Earth - Burnt Offerings
) Gamma Ray - Land Of The Free
) Virgin Steele - Invictus
) Rhapsody - Symphony Of Enchanted Lands
) Bal-Sagoth - Battle Magic
) Nightwish - Oceanborn
) Sonata Arctica - Ecliptica
[Usual disclaimer/reminder - I didn't come up with the list, although admittedly I am the one who chose to use it for my writing project. (And note that the choices themselves are framed in the original article as "here are some cool records that have something to do with power metal," and explicitly not as a list of essentials, or as anything beyond some arbitrary picks generated by one dude.) So, however strongly one may feel that, say, he picked the wrong Iced Earth record, or that picking any IE record at all is wrong because of certain extracurricular activities, or that Bal-Sagoth aren't sufficiently PM-"adjacent," or that any '90s list that relegates Stratovarius to the also-recommended section is a crime against humanity... well, even if you're right, I have no power to change an article that someone else posted several years ago, haha.]

Manilla Road - 1986 - The Deluge - Divine Victim
Hail to the Queen
Of Victory
Her holy war was England's shame
She was no fiend
Of heresy
Put to the death by evil's flame
[CHORUS]
Another victim
Of Christianity
Ecclesiastic fire from Hell
Divine the victim
No sanctuary
Her sacred soul she would not sell
Faithful her ways
Through all her days
Enlightened child of Tree and Stone
Born of the slaved
All France she saved
Conquering Angels of Orleans
[CHORUS]
