PPD
So my wife has been dealing with her postpartum depression the last three months and it’s gotten to the point where she’s really contemplated killing herself just so she doesn’t feel this way. So I’ve sat her down and talked to her asked why she would want to do such a thing. And every time she’s says no one would miss me and everyone would be better off.
And I’ve told her no we wouldn’t be like we would all miss you so much and the kids would all miss you. Especially our oldest he and my wife quite literally do everything together.
And I’m not over exaggerating or anything because tonight she text me are you awake? And I thought that’s odd because if she wanted to talk to me she could just come out to the living room where I’m at. And then I thought to myself shes actually going to try and do it tonight because she’s always said that she would try and do it while I’m sleeping so I wouldn’t stop her.
So idk if I’m posting this to rant or to have someone say I’m overthinking it but please I could use some advice. Also she does take antidepressants and I pretty much have stayed at home during all this to help my wife get through this.

I’m so sorry you’re both going through this, and you’re not overthinking it. You’re being a really good husband by taking it seriously. Please go be with her tonight and don’t leave her on her own also make her feel she's not alone. Even just sitting with her helps. It’s also a good idea to put her meds somewhere only you can get to for now.
You don’t have to handle this alone:
I have connected with a coach for my postpartum with similar case with a team called Misspoppins and I have felt better as well. You can book a call with them via https://go.misspoppins.io/r-01
You can call or text 988, together or just you, and they’ll walk you through what to do
The National Maternal Mental Health Hotline (call or text 1-833-852-6262) is 24/7 and made for moms going through exactly this
If it ever feels like she’s in danger right now, call 911 or go to the ER
you can also try out with bringing her favourite food.
Tomorrow, call her doctor and tell them what she’s been saying. Sometimes the meds just need adjusting, and PPD really does get better with the right help.
Thinking of you both
