This might be Frontier just sorting their servers out on the backend, but in case what I did actually made a difference:
Load up PZ2, DO NOT CLICK "Continue Zoo". Instead, click the "Franchise" mode button (with the big toucan on it). Your save should be there and should load - mine did, anyway.
Importantly, you must not click "Continue Zoo" from the landing page. If you do that, and it gives the "cannot connect" error, even manually opening Franchise mode will show you have nothing there. You need to fully close PZ2 and reopen it at that point to restart and open Franchise mode without the "continue zoo" button.

One of the things I love about birds that's really fascinating to me is how by the time a bird fledges they're basically the same size as adults, and barring specific features that are used for courtship/denote maturity (eg hornbill casque) they're basically the same same shape as adults too. And yet their plumage is often wildly different, to the point of being a major part of trying to identify birds in the wild.
So I was pretty disappointed when I realised juvenile birds in-game were just copies of the adults. It's a huge disservice to a really notable part of bird growth. Of the birds in game, only the secretarybird, shoebill, long-eared owl, eurasian bittern and javan green magpie don't have noteworthy differences between juveniles and adults. Though with the magpies that may be a lack of data from what I could find, and you could still maybe do something for the owl and bittern (they're just variable enough in plumage anyway that you can kinda handwave it, but there are subtle differences). Every other bird has something going on that makes them clearly distinguishable, and in multiple cases they're totally different.
Don't get me wrong, the chick models for the birds are really cute, and I'm glad we have them. But I don't think it's fair to jump straight from that to something that looks like an adult when they're not even considered adults yet in-game. There is a functionally valuable reason to want that to be reflected.
When all that's needed for basically everything other than the toco toucan and great hornbill is just a colour + pattern change, I really hope this is something we get in the future. I call this a minor nitpick because at the end of the day it's not like this has a huge impact on the game overall. But it does really bother me personally lol

All the bugs aside - happy the devs are 3-4 patches deep on such a short window post launch (keep up the great work!) excited for future patches to plug up the little holes to get this ship a sailing smooth…
Wanted to send some absolute praise to the new painting system - wetlands / blending terrain types - is such a phenomenal minor detail to really get that terrain to put the vibe in a whole new atmosphere. Loving that - I made a zen garden, stone walled in, with a dirt path - and then ran the wetlands brush over the dirt to get this subtle little puddles - the wild grass adding small flowers, no longer having to manually place thousands of flowers and hiding 90% of other various nature objects to get that subtle detail = <( ^ v ^ )> a very happy zookeeper

Originally I was going to start my DLC speculation but whilst building today this struck me as more important.
When the zoopedia drops began, I was excited to see that seemingly every animal was getting a decal/sign as those are some of my favourite pieces in the game that I use for entrances/area signs but I was also disheartened that exhibit animals were left out of it, even the ones that had signs in the first game are missing them.
Maybe as a first anniversary gift they could be made alongside a free animal, I just want my reptile house signs to be more reflective of whats inside. Enjoy this lovely microsoft paint masterpiece to illustrate my point.

My reef aquarium is mildly overrun by turtle babies. Didn't think it was too much of a problem, until I found out they take 25 years to mature and I can't do anything with them in the meantime lol.
Also I noticed the discrepancy in the sex of my baby turtles and my partner pointed out that with real turtles, sex is determined by temperature, so that's pretty cool if they implemented this here!

Dear Frontier,
I would love some form of "Zoo Directory" placeable item that uses an overhead screenshot of your zoo. I'd be happy with low-res, just sayin'.

Since the release of Planet Zoo 2, I've been playing around with the building pieces and looking for some colourful inspiration. I was watching a travel vlog featuring Nassau in the Bahamas, and spotted these really simple but beautiful buildings around the port. They seemed to offer everything a visitor could need
Naturally, that got me thinking, could I create something similar in Planet Zoo 2?
Several hours later, I think it turned out pretty well. I've managed to put together a gift shop, restrooms, coffee shop and entrance gate, all in the colourful style I was aiming for
I'm thinking of taking this a step further and building an entire zoo area around these pieces to see how they look together. I've also included a bonus set of smart lockers inspired by the ones found at Disneyland
Workshop codes:
Anyway, feedback is always welcome, and I hope you find a place for these in your zoo one day soon!

So as I was releasing some fish into my reserve I happened to check up on my animals who I'd released previously just to see how they were doing and I noticed that my hyena pair had a pup, and not only a pup but a leucistic pup! The interesting part about this is that my hyenas in this reserve were born in both of my mainline zoos (one parent from each zoo), so does this mean that the hyenas in my zoos also possibly carry these genetics?
