Hey everyone,

Update: kitty has come home!

If anyone in the Bay Ridges area near or around fairview could keep their eyes out for this cat. She isn't wearing a collar, but responds to the name Brix (Bricks). It seems she had been let out at some point earlier today around 5pm, and we would appreciate if anyone who has maybe seen her to send us a message to my DM.

Thanks! I would appreciate it if people would keep their eyes open if they may see her.

Hi there. Any suggestions of where to go for a nice family brunch/lunch on the weekend? Doesn't have to be in Pickering but not more than a ~20min drive please.

Dear Pickering Community,

My house has a large sqft of flat roof that i have had repaired in patches multiple times. Unfortunately, that resulted in many more problems/leaks. I’m not considering just replacing it altogether and getting it properly replaced.

I’m estimating 600-700 sqft.

1. What’s a price range I should expect?

2. Does anyone have any flat roofers they can recommend that’s also reasonable with their prices?

3. Should I consider durable metal? I don’t even know if that’s ideal for a flat roof.

Hey Pickering! In case you missed it, there was a Mayoral Debate on Tuesday night with 4 of the 7 candidates for mayor. It was a spirited debate with lots of direct exchanges and contrast - and we answered some community questions at the end.

You can watch the full recording of it on YouTube:

I hope this is helpful! Voting is now open. If you don't know who to vote for, a debate is a great place to start. Election Day (deadline to vote) is Monday October 26th :)

Official all candidate info (including the other 3 mayoral candidates, not on stage for this debate):

It’s time for change and action - get out and vote (online or in person)

Whatever your views, make your choice.

I've talked to more than a few people over the past week who have said "it doesn't matter" OR "I only care about Federal and Provincial elections" and that's pretty sad. Pickering had really low voter turnout last Municipal election... in general Municipal elections tend to have lower interest. But being able to vote online makes it so easy. It takes less than 5 minutes.

Why would people do this at pickering beach? Is this some type of worship? What are they summoning?

My barber from Markham moved to a shop in downtown and I’m now searching for a new barber. Any recommendations in Pickering, Ajax or east Markham?

I’m looking for someone experienced in doing cuts like the pictures attached.
