Camera or foldable

I really like the z fold 8, but I heard it’s cameras are a bit meh. I really like taking photos but since having a kid taking my camera out with me is not very realistic, so I ideally want a phone with a nice camera. I’m in between the zfold8 and the xiomi (or oppo). Please help me.

My sister had bad luck with the Z Fold 8, she has a kid so she might have dropped it or it was a bad batch. I've always wanted a foldable but I think I'll stay away from it for awhile.

I have the Xiaomi 17t Pro or Google Pixel Pro XL on my sights, I'll probably be buying by early 2027 though, but if I were to buy now, I would go with the Xiaomi 17t Pro because it's well-rounded. The S26 Ultra looks good too.

If you enjoy tinkering and doing a bit of work I would say the following: Xiaomi 17 Pro / Ultra, Vivo, Sony Xperia. If you prefer point and shoot; iPhone, Samsung and Pixel. All are pretty good but the first group are closer to a camera with results (in that they are not perfect but can get better shots if you know what you are doing).

The best cameras on foldables right now is the Huawei Pura X Max. But wait for the Mate X8 or the Pura X2 Max to see if they can use the Huawei Ruiying Z10 external camera module that's a 1" sensor 24-240mm optical zoom. Im waiting for the Pura X2 Max but if the Mate X8 coming out soon can use the Ruiying Z10, then I might just go with it.

I have the flip and I love the form factor but I am constantly saying to myself fuck I wish the camera was better.  Its perfectly fine for day to day shooting. But there are times where I need that extra "oomph" and it does lack in that department
