Because she was already in his phone. They talked like they've known eachother forever, because they have... Bro just forgot... Making her "don't forget me" extra poignant.

You’re right. But There’s also a glitch in this sub: when I see a high number of comments on a post, I end up seeing fewer comments once I open it. I’m not sure why that happens?

Edit: If you wish to comment, simply read and agree to the rules of this sub

I believe responses are getting deleted by accounts who haven't gone in and accepted the new sub rules.

On top of what others have replied with, this is also just how Reddit works in general. The "# comments" stat always shows the TOTAL number of comments that have been made, regardless of whether or not any of them are still there.

I took it as she was committing suicide (by jumping off the train), and that's why they didn't need her number and wanted someone to remember her.

Totally makes sense … are the words “I met her on the train” just a red herring?

I mean, if he didn't remember her at the time (for any reason). Then he would have felt like he did, in fact, meet her there... So less of a Red Herring, and more of just relaying the experience in how it felt at the moment.

God I was getting so many replies yesterday that I just couldn't interact with, it was ridiculous.

And the real answer is this is farming engagement. They want you to click and leave comments guessing and theorizing an answer.

There is absolutely nothing that can be answered here without adding your own details

Stewie here.

This looks like one of those quora click bait captions.

I'm guessing they make it sound like she killed herself, loop you through about a hundred pages of "next" where they appear to reboot the entire premise about 5 times only to reveal that she doesn't have a phone or some lame ass deal like that.

My supernatural guess is that she was a ghost. He found her obituary.

They were both dead. Lovers in their previous life. Died in a vehicle crash. He left first and was in the afterlife before her and was working through his trauma.

She arrived after him and could remember the event, but can’t tell him immediately because it will traumatize him further.

They’ll ride the bus everyday together until he “gets it,” then they’ll make the choice to be reborn again and try to find each other in the next life.

Where they’ll meet once again…

On a bus.

End scene. Close credits. The end.

I don't know why reading this and all the comments made me remember an ad? About Alzheimer's where the father forgets his daughter as he talks to about her pregancy.

Sounds like plot of Eternal Sunshine of the spottless Mind a bit.
