Very excited to see Mayor elect Greenman at Varieuer tonight.

I've never had the experience before of going to a politician's event where they don't want to talk at the audience, and also don't just say "Ask me anything."

Instead Adam, clearly a former teacher, skillfully walked the room through several rounds of exercises where he drew out the concerns, hopes, and general needs of the community. Not only did the audience express our individual wishes, we also learned about each other's perspectives.

As this is my "DeFlock" account, I was encouraged to hear him state that his administration will lead a community inclusive review of Flock cameras during the first 45 days of 2027.

As a Pawtucket resident, I was excited to see inclusive leadership in action.

Flock surveillance cameras are not on the agenda, because Flock camera have never been on the agenda. The Pawtucket City Council has been ducking votes on Flock for five years.

Let's show up and turn out during the public input period to tell the City Council we expect them to protect privacy rights in Pawtucket and ban Flock cameras.

Anyone can join in person (or zoom), and sign up to speak in the public input period.

We live in Oak Hill and my child is starting Kindergarten next year. We're considering the typical private schools in pvd, but also are looking into Varieur. We love the idea of investing in our local community and having our child's friends live in the neighborhood. There are so many threads covering pvd elementary schools, but crickets when it comes to pawtucket. Any families out there who sent their kids to varieur (or other pawtucket public schools) that can speak to their experience? Thank you!

Hello! I’m researching family tree and I have a great grand aunt who travelled from England to Pawtucket on at least 3 separate occasions between 1903 and 1915. She was a teacher and stayed with the same family on Prince St. she was never married and never had children based on my research so far. I’m fascinated and would love to understand more or see if there’s any local history or archives on her or even the family she stayed with (I believe he had some reputation as a chemist). She listed them as her aunt and uncle on shipping papers - I’m not sure how she knew them. I was hoping someone could help point me in the right direction please and thank you!

Has anyone seen a Coyote or pack of them close to Mother Earth & 95? I saw my first one last night & at least one neighbor of mine has seen a pack of three. I have been in the area for a little over a year but this is the first I am hearing about or seeing them

There is an abundance of Rabbits in the area, at least one Skunk as well as a handful of Rats. My assumption is that they have moved in due to the Rabbits

New center opens doors to homeownership with open house and mortgage lender event

Pawtucket Central Falls Development will celebrate the opening of its new Homeownership & Financial Center with a free open house connecting prospective homebuyers with nearly a dozen local mortgage lenders.

“Fall into Possibility: Homeownership Center Open House + Meet the Mortgage Lenders” takes place Saturday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to noon at 44 Central Street in Central Falls. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with Central Falls Mayor Maria Rivera is scheduled for 11 a.m.

The 7 awards will be made at the November 6th banquet and induction ceremony which begins at 6pm with a reception, 7pm dinner and program, to be held at the Pawtucket Armory Arts Center, Exchange Street, Pawtucket.

The induction award is given to those individuals whose efforts, in any line of endeavor, have gone “above & beyond” in their community service activities and/or who have been vehicles that shine a positive light upon the city.

I got stuck behind a long line of cars at 7:45-ish this morning near said location. When I got closer, Beverage Hill was completely closed and there were several rescue vehicles and at least three engines and a ladder truck there. Weird that I can’t find anything online about it. Anyone know the story?
