Righteous : Story Would a good character do secret ending? Spoiler

I always felt like ascension as kind of a selfish move, are there any justification for a good character (specifically angel) to ascend instead of just closing the world wound?
Edit: (assuming not ascending with areelu)

Owlcatober seventh topic - Friendly fire.
Well, you see – friendly. :)

I’ve gone mix media here: character animation in Spine, fire made in Blender. Ah, technology!

Righteous : Builds Monk Build

Not super familiar with pathfinder and it's mechanics. I've only played BG3 and played 5E. Monk is my favorite class and I was wondering how you guys would build a monk in this game. I usually align chaotic good on my characters and I saw that there was a charisma based monk I think?

Memeposting Death Consonant interesting interaction

I’ve been playing around with Death Consonant Bardiche and was kinda sad when I found out it only gives 1x your int to dmg instead of 1.5x from two handed wielding, but the Power Attack still gave the 1.5x.

So I played around with the Two handed fighter and Titan Fighter class features and I was quite surprised that with Titan Fighter you actually get the 2x int to dmg multiplier when holding it in one hand… what I was even more surprised that if you also get the Overhand Chop from Two-handed fighter you still get another 0.5x while holding it in one hand. I find it just quite funny to have 2.5x int to dmg with a onehanded weapon 🤣 should be called keyboard warrior XD

That’s it :)

Righteous : Builds Dexterity Pure Cleric?

• Upvotes

Hello all.

I'm trying to make a viable build that's literally what the title says, as I've played a cleric in neverwinter nights and 3.5dnd, with the same build. I'd like to recreate that build to some degree in wotr.

So, why dexterity?

High ac, movement speed, accuracy with finesse and ranged weapons, stealth, mobility, trickery, etc. However, I've run into a problem. Clerics don't get cats grace, and very rarely can buff their dexterity in any way aside from consumables.

For the sake of flavor, I want to remain purely a cleric, so no multiclassing. Is there any way I can make this build work? Advice on domains, spells, etc?

Thank you!

Kingmaker : Builds 2nd run on WotR and I want to share some #1

• Upvotes
Mercenary Kineticist, Lvl 19.

Hi guys, just getting closer to end at 6.

For my second run I chose Angel path. KC is Pure Shadow Shaman with merged spellbooks. My whole team are mercenaries, no story companions. I love quests, but too many quests make the game longer than I want to play it.

Previous one was a tank Primalist / Ranger, with Trickster path. Get the idea that first run took me 300hs.

So the picture!: The damage done by the blue flame blast, empowered and maximized does 250 dmg on a normal hit, and 760 on a critical, I happens in time but what a feeling to see that damage done.

Every companion was design for a rol based on mecanics. I even feel that my KC is useless next to the mercenaries.

If the post gets some attention and interest, I would love to share what I have "design" for this run to make it funny.

Righteous : Game Finished my first playthrough and it took me a whopping 187 hours. Is this the universal experience?

Played on daring difficulty, no resets, the majority of encounters were played in RTwP, completed every quest except that one with the elven notes for the Storyteller. The longest I had ever taken to finish a campaign was 168 hours on a BG3 honor mode playthrough, so I'm marveled at just how long this one took considering I still haven't even touched 3 of the DLCs (Lord of Nothing, Through the Ashes and Inevitable Excess), and amazed that over 10% of Steam owners saw the end of the game, a very respectable number for games of this genre.

Am I just a sluggish completionist, or is this a common occurence among people who finished the campaign?

Righteous : Builds Inquisitor living grim

So I want to make a living grim Inquisitor. (Core) Aeon mythic path. I am Having issues with how to go about as it seems like it will be stretched thin in terms of feats and attributes. If I want to use spells I am going to need all the dc and pen feats I can get as it is clearly geared towards a more offensive support caster. If I want to bonk things with my book I am going to need as many attack bonus increases as I can get as it is not a full bab class and even those can have issues hitting things beyond act 4. Then there the attributes spread. Dex and Int are obvious but as they effect both things mentioned earlier. But cha also effects several abilities and I'll need con to live in Melee. Scratching my head on how to make this work

Righteous : Game Lann or wendaug after shield maze (unfair)

I had to restart my 1st unfair run using lann, because I just couldn't kill anything. 2nd try with wendaug is going much smoother, but I've always read that pets are very helpful for unfair, and I usually play lann as zen archer 3/divine hunter 16/demon Slayer 1 so he'd bring the pet, some buffs, and guarded hearth from impossible domain. Any input would be greatly appreciated

Kingmaker : Modded Builds Sarenrae thematic build+party

For my third run, I wanna actually do Tristian quest and his romance, and so I decided to play a Sarenrae follower MC. My plan is to go 10 sacred huntsman inquistor(conversion inquisition)/10 dawnflower anchorite. I'd use anything able to weild a scmitar and cast some spells, expect for paladin.

For my companion, I'll use Tristian, as a pure ecclesitheurge cleric. For the rest of the party, I'm open to use anyone but Jaethal and Harrim, including mercenaries.

Please suggest builds for them that synergize well with my main idea, and also items for my MC and Tristian.

(Hard difficulty, call of the wild and respec mods).

Meta I really want to like this game. Please help!

I love CRPGs. Been playing since the first BG on my old Compaq. I am just overwhelmed by WotR.

Not only do I struggle to decide what class (then possible subclass) to choose, I worry about choosing which mythical path! I bought all the expacs too so that's added to it!

Executive dysfunction kicks in and I don't make it past the character creation screen.

How do I even start?! How did you choose?

Fwiw: I prefer playing warlock characters in DnD, WoW, etc. Very different here, I know. I lean heavily into magic classes. Also, I plan on playing on Normal for first go through. I am open to other classes like the kineticist or shifter (?)

Thank you for any advice!

EDIT: I appreciate the advice so far. To clear, I tried Kingmaker and fell off after killing the bandit king for some reason. I played sorcerer, which had been my go-to since BG2. I was worried the same would happen with this game.

I'll take a closer look at the mythic paths. I like the sound of the Gold Dragon but that's so late in the game. The Lich sounds like something I'd like but, from the spoiler-free bits I've read, it sounds like it drastically alters the gameplay after a certain point so I don't want to do first thing.

Kingmaker : Builds Kingmaker, how yo build Blue Flame Kineticist? No deadly earth

Heya all, I wanted to play kingmaker as a Magus, but I ditched the idea, and want to run a Kineticist.

Can someone give me a build that DONT use Deadly Earth?

I love fire, so a Blue Flame build will be sick, but I'm open for suggestion, I like electricity or air too.

Can you give me a build since I dont know anything of Kineticist? If it have some persuasion too will be awesome.

Thank you all in advance!

Kingmaker : Modded Builds Elemental ascetic

So I'm trying this class from Call of the Wild mid. It's basically monk plus Kineticist where you use Kineticist blast through your fists. My stats is 10 Str 18 Dex 17 Con 16 Wis 10 Cha and Int. Any tips on how to build this class well?

Kingmaker : Game Thinking about starting Kingmaker. Are there any "must-have" mods for bugfixes?

I've seen DragonFixes mentioned on the wiki, but are there anything else that would be good?

Also any for WOTR are appreciated, since I'll be playing that after I finish Kingmaker.

Meta Core is NOT the "default" difficulty level

Sorry for this rant, but please let's get rid of this misconception once and for all. Core is NOT the "default" difficulty level. NORMAL is. Core is in fact two levels above the default (we have Daring in bewteen), and it's tailored for those who are already familiar with Pathfinder 1e ruleset.

And Kingmaker and WotR are not the first.

Baldur's Gate 2 has "Normal" (Enemies deal 25% less damage and do not use their most powerful spells and items. Party members cannot permanently die, etc.) and "Core Rules" (This setting is aimed at veteran players who are well versed in AD&D mechanics).

Neverwinter Nights has "Normal" (Fireballs and other area effect spells will not harm party members, No critical hits on PCs, etc.) and "D&D hardcore rules".

So, no shame in playing Normal for people who are not familiar with PF1e rules (emphasis on that: having already played Divinity 2 or BG 3 doesn't mean "knowing PF1e rules").

After all, one can bump up the difficulty later, after grasping how PF1e works.

Righteous : Game Unfair Water Elemental Fight + Maze Cleared

Thumbnail

I know this won't be impressive to some of y'all, but I'm pretty proud of this. I finished two full campaigns on Hard and figured it was finally time for the Unfair run. So far using cRPG Bro's Inciter Skald, and the latest guides for Seelah, Camellia, and Wendy. Full clearing the Maze with 0 animal companions has been quite a challenge but I finally finished it after a few hours. I feel like this doesn't bode well for the near future since the builds don't really get animals until Act 2, but we'll see.

Seelah AC 33 + perma Protective Luck from Cam in addition to the Cold potions. Enlarge + Glaive for my MC to stay out of range with Haste + Prayer + Bless + Rage, etc. Unfortunately the build I'm using for Wendy was basically useless in this fight and I had Cam perma-hexing, so mostly just MC and Seelah 2v1ing the elemental.

Took around 100 resets. As you can see from the combat log, I got very lucky on this run. Probably had 10 runs where I was one hit away from winning but the MC couldn't clutch it after the To-Hit buffs ran out.

Righteous : Game Why is my Oracle immune to Frightful Aspect?

Thumbnail
gallery
49 Upvotes

Tried finding the answer on Google but nothing helped so I'm asking here. My Daeran (lv 20 Oracle) can't receive Frightful Aspect and I can't discern why, since all my other characters who have the buff get it with no problem and he also doesn't have other polymorph effects on. Second image shows current buffs at the time of casting, for reference

Righteous : Game Possible Bug? Threshold Fight (Hard)

Game's been out for years but you never know:

This is actually my first run on hard, so Areelu was much more difficult this time around than I remembered. I had to reload a couple of times. My KC (angel oracle) could probably solo her, but Sosiel kept dying and I have this weird compulsion to restart fights if someone dies.

Anyway, I tried again and I basically one shot her (2 empowered/bolstered Bolt of Justice). Is that supposed to happen? She's been healing to full in the other tries, but I guess this time I got her down to zero with one character.
